Picture Recovery from Crashed Computer?

Still waiting on a text from hubby to see what he says to do, but thought I'd ask here too.

I was working on my computer trying to get my photos edited and then I had the intentions of saving them to my hard drive. (This is the norm...that way I have the photos on the computer and on an external hard drive.) Well, half way through the editing process my flipping computer crashed and I lost all the photos. It says that the camera card thing was wiped. They didn't get saved anywhere.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get those pictures back? I had pics of the kids as well as cakes and cupcakes that I need for my business.

Thanks all!

Might still be on the memory card. Try it. I always put my photos on a DVD first. Then on computer so I could edit etc. if anything crashes, I am covered. One DVD holds about 600 photos. Good luck.

Take out the hard drive and hook it up to another computer.

If you figure out how to do this, let me know. When our computer died, we took hard drive best buy geek squad to try and recover our pictures off the hard drive and they were not optomistic (but were willing to charge us $600 to try - LOL).
Seriously - DM me if you get it figured out. I have saved our hard drives just in case:)

Seriously, Christy J?

My computer crashed, lost all of my photos, went to geek squad at best buy, and they got my pictures back for FREE within like 5 minutes.

You can try loading the card in the camera and checking to see if they are there. They are likely still on the card, don't panic.

My Apple computer crashed, and the Apple store actually sent me to the Geek Squad at Best Buy - they recovered a whole ton of data. Don't do anything else yourself - go to the Geek Squad or a similar service from a reputable company. You might be surprised at what they can do. I think I paid less than $100 for the data, which they then transferred to my new computer.

Think the difference w/Geek Squad is the luck of the draw on the tech you get! Some are more helpful than others - esp $$-wise!

Even though the camera card has been deleted, there are software that can retrieve the photos, although some may be corrupted. So long as you have not taken more photos or messed around with formatting the card.
