Hi, I am a mom of 3 years and 1 years old, working 2 days a week. I like to make up every morning but many of days just did not have times. also even I had times, by the time back from playground or pool, my under eyes became all dark . So, I am thinking to have permanent eye line but could not decide. Is anyone had before permanent eye line and do you know any risks?
Also do you have any recommendation around Alpharetta or Canton area?

Don't do it!
Once it's done it's done.no changing color, etc. And if it looks bad there's no chance to redraw it. Either don't wear any or get water proof.

I have had my make up done for about 10 years now. As for the eyeliner, I only had the tops done, as that is the only place I wear liner. My lashes are thick, so my eyes are just fine without the bottom lined. I did the brows, but for a filler, as my brows are not as shapely as I would like. I did have my lips lined, which I loved, but I eat a lot of vinegar, or acidic foods and that makes it wear off. It is too painful to redo the lips. I wouldn't trust anyone else but the lady who does my make up, not even her staff.

I will add, anytime I want to change the color, I just write right over top of my liner.

Eyebrows look good when you are young, but when you get to be older they look like "clown" makeup. I work with many people that had it done and yikes...after 50 you look weird because the rest of your face changes and it cannot support dark eyebrows anymore. Most of those same people had eyeliner also tatooed. Picture a white face with racoon eyes. Save yourself the "look" when you are older.

I also feel the same as the mother who listed below me. Make styles change and you will change your style as you get older. Eye liner on an older women when you get very old won't look appealing. As a women ages many times it's better to soften the look eye liner as a tat won't always be something you want. I have to agree buy a better make up.

I have this to say about tat's I got one 15 yrs ago it's on my hip so not everyone can see it all the time. I'm now 46 and wish i didn't get it.....Glad I didn't get the make up tat's I also thought about back then. Give it time what's a good idea today will be a good idea 1 yr from now.

Go to a dermatologist with a great rating in one of those areas and talk to them about it first.

My mom had hers done and she looks like a racoon. Once it's done, you can't change it! Maybe check a place and ask for pictures of actual clients and see if you can talk to them. Good luck!

I did it a few years back and love it. I had my lips and tops of my eyelids done. Haven't regretted it yet! I'm not in your area so sorry no recommendations.

A co-worker of mine had it done yaers ago. They did it beautifully a soft navy blue she is 56 years old and looks great. I personally wouldn't do it only because I love make-up and new looks and wouldn't want to be trapped into one look. Maybe try waterproof liner for awhile be for your go under the...needle?

Ouch! These responses are harsh. I did it and I love it. I know lots of others who felt the same way after doing it.

It's subtle, not harsh and it actually IS removable (with a needle and an agent that breaks up the ink). It will fade in time anyway so I probably won't keep or re-do that look as I get much older, but it's not the same as a regular tattoo. It just fades away...

It saves a TON of time in getting ready each day and my makeup always looks great and not fake at all. My brows and eyes actually show up in pictures now! I had them both done and I do not regret it a bit.

Don't do it! Buy better make-up that doesn't run. Make-up styles change, but a tattoo cannot. You won't always be this busy, but you'll have time to look in the mirror every day, whether you like the outcome or not.

I did know someone who had it done and it looked great for a few years BUT then about 5 or so years later she had to have it redone/touched up because it started to fade and look bad. Well then it looked horrible after the touch up, she did go to the same place it just did not look "natural" like the first time. Think of it as a tattoo because that is what it is, over time it fades so will need touch ups ALSO with time the body changes and it will start to stretch, sag and the result is need touch up again or just leaving it and looking a little odd later in life. A tattoo that is on the body can usually be cover up with clothes when you get older and it looks worn (on back, legs, arms) but the eyes you can not cover up later in life.

All the before and after pics look awesome but that is with-in months, down the road 5 years form now you might regret it and with it being around the eye removal of the tattoo is very difficult to remove. It is going to cost hundreds of dollars to get done, hundreds for touch ups and if you decide to remove it later in life (if possible) it will cost even more... is in the end is it really worth it to have "perfect make-up" now and then later on have to stare at something that is no longer "perfect" due to your body changing. I have a tattoo so I am not against tattoos but I do have it in a place that is easily covered and even when I get older it will not be an eye sore or I do not need to worry about touch up.

Find a few places, do the free consultations ask questions and see if it is really worth it to you, not only in the here and now but years down the road.

I had a friend who had it done, and she liked it. It was blue (not to dark, but not bright, and she has blue eyes so it looked good), and she did look like she'd at least done something.

But I would not do it, personally. First of all, I like to change the color of my eyeliner with what else I'm wearing - can't do that with permanant eyelinger. Second, it fades over time and generally needs a touch-up (not worth it in my opinion). And, I might be tempted to not take as good of care of my skin if I don't have to think about makeup - and good skin care will make much more of a difference than any makeup!
But that's just me :)

No way! Just think, BESIDES the possibility of making a mistake, and it being permanent on your face, STYLES CHANGE. Eyebrows are cool one way, then 10 years later, there's a different style. Not only that, but things you like now may not only be unfashionable later, but also not necessarily age appropriate! (The colors, the style, all of it). Another thing that is just a fact of aging: things MOVE. Including your face! You paint something that looks good now, and then later when your eyes sag a little or something droops a little.....now your makeup is a little off! Not to mention a little less complimentary. To permanent things on your face: NO WAY.
I'm still fairly young but I've changed my style so many times! I went through the hippie stage, the piercings everywhere stage, the more eastern stage with the eyeliner, eyebrows, and even henna. Now I'm in the happy to be me, mom of 2 little ones in the south look. But I am looking forward to changing my look and style a bit once the boys are in school and I go back to work and have a little more ability to dress up for dates out with my husband. Life changes, so do we! Thank goodness I've never done anything permanent, even though I loved all my phases at the time.

Well, I'm sure you know this, but permanent make-up is actually tattoo, so the risks are the same as for tattoo.

Anyway, I suggest that you do your research before you get it done. Go to a person who has been doing it for a long time, and who has PLENTY of photographs of her/his work to show you. Ask for references, too. Many honest and talented permanent make-up tattooists work in doctors' offices, such as dermatologists, and that would be a good place to start. The ones that are really good do a lot of work to "correct" things like facial birthmarks, and are quite literally performing art work on their clients. It can be a life changing experience for people who have lived with facial discoloration, cherry birthmarks, etc.

Do not go into this lightly.... be prepared to find the best and pay for it. One last thing is that this is your eyes, and you have only one set. You don't want to go to someone who isn't the absolute best at their work.

I have seen women with the permanent eyeliner and eyebrows... and well, it didn't look natural. It looked awful actually.
Maybe it depends on the ability of who did it... I don't know.

Try researching the risks online, do a Google search.

The Almay brand eyeliner is great. It stays on.

My mom had eyeliner and brows done a few years ago. I was very impressed with how it turned out! They did a great job and she loves it. I don't think I would get it done right now because I change my make-up daily and like wearing different colors, but if you don't mind having the same color, I say go for it!

I wouldn't...just think...they are messing with your face. What if something goes wrong or you don't like it. That chance is real.

I have a tattoo, visible depending on what I am wearing and although I have no regrets about it all, I would never do anything to my face (including plastic surgery).

I've seen too many cases of permanent make up and face lifting go bad.

I have a very good friend who had her eyes lined. They look awesome. She has such fair lashes, so this really helps.

She also has her lashes dyed.

She says that now she is in her 50's she cannot see close up or far away without glasses so applying eyeliner would be really difficult. She is glad she had it done.

I don't have any personal experience with it, but seeing permanent eye liner on older women just doesn't look right. When you age, your face and eyes change. It looks good in the beginning, but after that, it doesn't. The two minutes it saves you every day is not worth looking funky when your older, in my opinion.

However, if you feel strongly about it, then do it. Don't let other people pressure you either way. Good luck!
