Our pedi told us for our 7 month old that we can keep trying different fruits and veggies. Once he has tried the different things we can get the ones that combine veggies or fruits. At 8 months she told us we can start trying the meat baby foods.

Hope that helps!

I have a 5 month old and he eats all of the stage 1 and stage 2 foods. He loves them. He really likes the mixed stuff, but I make sure and give him the single combination foods as well. I also give him tastes of stuff we are eating if it is appropriate for him.

You know I was just like that, I had my first and only child in Jan of 07 and I took everything the dr. said to heart. Let her eat this and only this, breastfeed for as long as possible, and do this this way and that that way. Her dad (we were together @ the time) was against most of what the dr would say. So I would catch him sneaking things to the baby and sad to say by the time she was 3 months she was eating beans, smashed up bananas, and I would some times catch him letting her suck on a rib or a non-spicy baffalo wing and drinking from her first sippy cup. Yes I would get upset but then I noticed that it didnt hurt her and she loved it. Its funny because if I would hav done things my way or the way the dr wanted me to my daughter would not be as advanced as she is now. When she was 6 months she was eathing everything even drinking from straw!!! When I say everthing that means peices of shredded meat, chicken, rice, pasta, dry cereal, pudding, everything. But of course not ____@____.com thing that i did learn was that if you introduce to much to her @ once she did get sick because her stomach was just not ready for all of that. So I would give her the same thing for 2 or 3 days in a row then something else. I also started to give her the gerbra graduates trays that you find @ the store. She is now 15 months going to be 16 months on the 23rd and she is a beautiful health baby girl that is eathing @ the table with the whole family with her fork in one and and her drink in the other. That is another important think, the sooner you introduce your child to things like that the faster they will grasp it. Well good luck to you!!!! And enjoy your child now because they grow up so fast.

I didnt proof so if there are mis-spelling Sorry

You could also try whole-grain toast crusts, bagels and unsweetened cereal, whole-grain rice, oats or barley (pureed or served as cereal). That's also great for teething babies. You can try foods like breakfast rice (rice, milk, water and 1/4 banana, peeled and mashed.)
I consulted "The Well-Fed Baby" by O. Robin Sweet and thomas Bloom. There are chef-developed recipes and feeding guidelines for infants that are age-appropriate. They stress mixing your baby's food rather than buying processed baby food. Another great resource is the Gerber hotline. You can contact them and they will give you feeding advice and ideas. You can find age appropriate menus according to your baby's age on the web site. I used it A LOT. Good luck! Feeding your infant well will help him develop healthy eating habits later!

He can probably be started on Rice Cereal now. At least that's when my little girl started. You can also try some pureed (?) dinner foods from Gerber --Stage 1 only. There are alot of varieties and it starts at 6 or 7 months..
Good luck!
