I have been double diapering my 7 month old son since he was a month old. He will still wet through several times a week. Any ideas as to how I can make sure this does not happen?

What can I do next?

Have you tried different brands of diapers? I know my son did really well with a brand we could only find at Walmart and he always wet through Pampers...
If it's at night, maybe he's drinking too much before bedtime?
Hope this helps!

I would say go up a size so the but area is wider , same was happening with my 19 month old , I moved her to size 5 (she is nowhere near the weight range for them) and the leaks have stopped.

I would go with cloth diapers (I am biased because it is all I use and what I sell). But seriously, they are far more absorbent.

I can tell you that our line (Air Biscuit) is going to be launching a "pocket styled" diaper as well (not up on the site yet). I think they will be $14.99 and come with 2 heavy duty microfiber inserts. They are one sized (so each diaper fits from 8lbs to 40lbs). Basically you would need 20, FOREVER. Very good savings I would say! And they are so darn cute! And you can pick your fabric combos, so they are custom made!

Perhaps using "Huggies Overnightes" will help.

I have friends with children who pee right through diapers and they have found wearing nighttime diapers during the day helps sometimes.

No need to worry...some children are real good pee'ers. :)

We went up a size for nighttime and generally still do. He can still wear 3s during the day since he's 28 lbs at 2.5yrs but go with 4 or 5s at night. At that age we went big and bought "diaper doublers" at Stop and Shop, which are like backing free sanitary napkins (without the adhesive) they worked pretty good too with the larger diaper- with a smaller diaper it was too tight and the pee would go out the side before it could be absorbed. Bigger did the trick. Sticking with the smaller size during the day was also more cost effective. You could also use any left over pads from your postpartum. I did that too.

Have you tried over night diapers a size larger than he usually wears?? I started doing that for my daughter and I haven't had any problems. If she drank a lot of liquids just before bed, I do go ahead and change her while still 1/2 asleep in her crib before I go to sleep. But the overnight diapers work great!

We change our son before we go to bed (about midnight or so), and use Huggies Overnights. Occasionally we throw a Pull Up on over that too!

Is it just at night he wets through? We use BJs diapers during the day (I like them as much as pampers and they are about 1/4 of the orice!) and then Huggies Overnights at night. Agree with size up - we use a size 4 in regular dipes for day and size 5 in Overnights for night. She will only wet through rarely. Good luck!

Try going up a size. And use overnight diapers-- we liked Huggies for both our kids. I know someone who would put a maxipad or cloth diaper insert inside the regular diaper, too.

We also liked using a 'miracle sheet' on the crib (babies R Us or amazon); it's a lined panel sheet that snaps to the bed rails/lays on top of the mattress. We'd make the bed (mattress and pad) as usual, and then snap an extra miracle sheet on top of that. In case there was a bedtime accident, you just rip off the top miracle sheet and have a dry bed underneath. It's bad enough having to change a wet baby in the middle of the night; a wet bed is awful!
