Hi mommas, I am 8 weeks pregnant with #4 and every time I am pregnant my feet are hot. I always end up making my own ice pack for rest my feet on to cool my body and help cool my feet. I was talking to my hubby about this. I can never find like a gel eye mask but for feet to strap on at my local store. I have looked online and they have these big bulky ones or ones that are just an ice park. But what about an gel eye make shaped as a foot with two straps to hold in place that you could walk around the house in or lay on the sofa with without it falling off or etc. Give me your feedback. But since I am in a fantasy world and they dont make those how can I cool my feet down without having to make my own ice pack that keeps falling off my feet. Or how do I keep a ziploc bag in place on my feet?

What can I do next?

If you can sew at all make a little case with velcro straps to hold it in place. It should look like a small pillow case with straps attached to one side of the open end. Make it just big enough for the ice packs you already have to slide in.

Good luck my feet were hot too. It could be swelling that's causing the feeling of being hot. Make sure you are drinking enough and put your feet up as often as possible.

Congrats on the tiny person.

Ziplock bags filled with alcohol and water (freeze) and then wrapped in cloth like ReverendRuby said, and get some velcro to hold it all together. Necessity is the mother of invention, I think if you came up with a pattern you could probably sell the product even.... I can see the info-mercial now ;)
In the meantime get yourself a big pan and keep some icy water in it to plop your feets in throughout the day before propping them.
Mine were swollen and hot the last few mos of my pregnancies, it's pretty miserable stuff.... especially in summer.
edit- I just remembered that my husband has these little neck things that he wears in summer that he got at a camping store. You get them wet and they stay cold and you could tie them around your ankles, they sort of look like skinny bandannas.

get peppermint essential oil at Sprouts or Sunflower Market, and rub that all over. That oil has very cooling properties and works really well. I had hot feet too and that helped. Also elevate them whenever you can.

I just bought some hot/cold packs for my achy neck that have elastic/velcro straps to hold them in place. I got them from Walmart in the healthcare section where you find hot and cold packs for muscle aches. They had gel ones, and clay ones in different sizes. I paid about $18 for two different sized ones. Your idea for foot shaped ones that strap onto the foot is a great idea. Although if it were made of gel I don't know if you would be able to walk around with them strapped onto your feet because of the amount of weight on them might make them burst.

I use to keep damp wash clothes in the fridge or freezer to cool my feet off.
Zip lock bags come in some huge storage sizes.
You could double bag some big ones, fill them with ice cubes, seal them, then wrap it in a towel and lay your feet/legs over them on the couch.
Of course a wash tub (or tub trug) filled with cool/cold water is great, too.
I use to do that while sitting out on the deck.

quick sidenote.... pumice your feet. My husband's feet ALWAYS feel hot. I gave him a pedicure where I pumiced off about 5lbs of dead skin (I maybe exaggerate) and he felt much better after. Good luck with your gelly sock idea.

Oh, those gel shoe inserts? What if you put it in the freezer?

Wrist bands... you know, like the kind for sports (stretchy, like 2 or so inches wide?) That's what I immediately pictured when thinking of a way to secure your ice packs to your feet.

But I definitely agree that this could be your million dollar idea! Create some socks that have a slip in pocket for a special foot shaped ice pack... or just the ice pack with a couple stretchy straps attached (since socks would seem to defeat the purpose of keeping your feet cool)...
