Can anyone give me a quick run down of weight watchers, I would like to know how many "points" you are allowed per day to lose 2lbs+/ week, and any other tips... like satisfying quick things to eat, etc.

What can I do next?

Weight Watchers changed the way I eat. You learn to pick protein, high fiber, low fat foods, lots of fruits and veggies. When I did it, which was before Points Plus, I could do 21 points a day. There are some foods that were zero points, like Cabbage Soup, I used to make a batch every Sunday. Also, tomato juice which I used to heat up and pretend it was tomato soup. Cool Whip Free was either 0 or 1 point. I still use it to dilute goodies like caramel dip and fudge sauce. A teaspoon of caramel dip with 2 T cool whip to dip apples slices. A teaspoon of chocolate sauce with 2 T cool whip to spread on a grilled banana. Sugar Free Lemon or Orange Jello made with cool whip. I also still add fiber to everything. Grind up All Bran cereal and add to a low fat brownie mix makes one cupcake size brownie very filling. Tacos that use 1/2 meat and 1/2 beans was one of my favorites - again fiber in the beans makes it so filling. Strips of peppers for snacks or zucchini chips. It really changes how you think about food and you do end up craving what you eat. You have to cook, though - I used to cook a lot of stuff on the weekends and freeze it and also cut up all my fruits and veggies to make it easier during the week. Good luck!

It depends on how much you weight, how much activity you do during the day and your age. You will lose the most weight the first week if you actually stick to the plan and then after that your body will adjust to the program and you'll lose 1-2 lbs a week, but you may not lose 2lbs or more. In fact, you might even lose less than 1lb per week and they say it's not healthy to lose more than 2 lbs a week. It's really how well you follow the program and how much exercise you get in. I ate grapes, apples, popcorn and drank alot of fluid to keep myself full. I was on WW for 8 months and lost 50 lbs, but I was incredibly strict about the program (and had a very supportive husband) and I also exercised for one hour a day up to 6 days a week! Good luck! I hope WW works for you! PS...go to the meetings! They are very inspiring and motivational! :)

The new plus points is actually 29 points for a huge majority of people. age and larger weight may add one or two more points.
You have to eat 5-8 groups of veggies and fruit a day, excersise at least 30 min a day to get started, 6 glasses of water a day, 2 tsp of oil a day, 2 cups of milk a day and they allow you about 49 extra points a week to work with for splurging. it is a great program.

update : those fruit and veggies are free in points now btw :0) so it is not counted in your 29 pts

I did WW once and it did work great but to figure out your points we need some more info from you.....height, weight and age. Depending on that will depend on how many points you are allowed.

Weight Watchers is great. It's the only thing that works for me. But your points per day depends on your age, weight, if you're pregnant, etc. Take advantage of when they have the Free Enrollment and you can learn about the program and what works for you. They are basically teaching moderation and making good choices most of the time but give you the leeway to make bad choices sometimes as long as you go right back to good choices.

Hope this helps!

I have done, and like Weight Watchers. Along with sparkpeople.com - which I actually like better. But I just started bellyfatfree.com - and the book makes SO much sense and my hubby and I are both doing it together - and it is SUPER easy. No counting, no measuring. Just avoid 7 key "fattening" foods and make sure your meals contain a balance of protein and healthy carbs. You might check it out.

The number of points you are allotted depends on the amount of activity you get in a day, how much you want to lose, and if you are breastfeeding full or part time.

Weight watchers is amazing! Im doing the old system but im allowed 23 pts per day! It depends on your activity, if ur full nursing, if ur nursing but babys on solids, your weight, your age, your height. I started out with 32pts because i was breastfeeding but my LO was on solids. The first wee is very very hard!! My snacks were raw carrots lol! That only lasted a week though! Remember every thing u eat and drink pretty much has a pt value
