Is Anyone on Weight Watchers?

Hi Ladies!
I need some weight watchers help. I have started weight watchers, I havent actually joined because we are trying to save as much money as possible, my friend gave me all of her old weight watchers material and I have been going off of that. Its been going great, Iv lost about 17 lbs. All of way baby weight! But I am still 12 lbs away from my goal weight. My question is, I am down to 18 points a day, and I have to admit, I feel like Im starving, I really want to stick with it and stay on track, but its really hard to stay within my points and not be starving. Could anyone give me some ideas on foods that would be filling but with very little points? I cant believe its almost Memorial Day!! Yikes, I have some work to do!

What can I do next?

Don't forget that you get that extra 35 points a week.
I know that there is a vegetable soup that you can make that has little to no points in it. You can eat as much of it as you want. Also there is a website that has some help. It is www.dwlz.com You have to scroll down past a bunch of advertisements, and there are some blue links to click on. One of the links is a food list, and she has 0 and 1 point foods.
I also like the frozen Smart Ones meals. The Chicken Santa Fe has only 2 points, and then I mix it with a half a bag of broccoli (the type that you microwave steam), and this fills me up up pretty good.
Fiber One bars are only 2 points and they are good (except the peanut butter are 3, and they aren't as good). The caramel ones are my favorite.

How "old" is the material? They have changed things - again - to be more user-friendly. Do you have the Core Plan material? Eat more foods on that list. The new program introduced in December 2008 is all about choosing 'filling' foods, which is mainly CORE foods. You can email me with your age, H/W info, activity level, etc. and I will see if you are at the correct point 'target' (many factors affect your points allowed). Also, if you are nursing you get to add 5 points daily (if nursing and feeding 'real' food or supplimenting - 10 points daily if exclusively nursing!). I have been a Lifetime Member of WW since 1990, and it is BY FAR the best, healthiest way to lose weight, gain control, feel good about yourself, and learn to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Are you sure that you are giving yourselve enough points a day? No matter what diet you use, if you are feeling truely hungery, then you are probably not eating enough to fill your dietary needs. If you are not getting enough to eat, then you will not loose the weight because your body will go into starvation mode. Having said that, make sure that it really is hunger and not habitual or emotional eating that makes you think you are hungery. See if you can find a weight watchers that will give you a free evaluation that can get you on the right track. There might be factors involved that you are not aware of even though you have all the literature.

I know it is getting warm for soup but this is a recipe that is a staple for me on Weight Watchers. It is an actual Weight Watchers recipe and is Zero! points. By the way, I always use cabbage instead of swiss chard just because of personal prefference. You can substitute vegetables for your taste.

Zero Point Garden Vegetable Soup
Ingredients

2 medium garlic clove(s), minced
1 medium onion(s), diced
2 medium carrot(s), diced
1 medium sweet red pepper(s), diced
1 medium stalk(s) celery, diced
2 small zucchini, diced
2 cup(s) green cabbage, shredded
2 cup(s) Swiss chard, chopped
2 cup(s) cauliflower, small florets
2 cup(s) broccoli, small florets
2 tsp thyme, fresh, chopped
6 cup(s) vegetable broth
2 tbsp parsley, or chives, fresh, chopped
1/2 tsp table salt, or to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper, or to taste
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, optional

Instructions
Put garlic, vegetables, thyme and broth into a large soup pot. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to low and simmer, partly covered, about 10 minutes.

Stir in parsley or chives; season to taste with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Yields about 1 cup per serving.
Notes
If you like thick soups, consider pureeing this recipe in the pot with an immersion blender.

There are so many variations on this soup recipe. Add or remove vegetables to meet your taste. And save time by using frozen vegetables instead of fresh ones (though the texture of the soup might change a bit). You can also buy pre-cut vegetables from your super market's salad bar.

All I can say is fiber, fiber, fiber! And don't forget your activity points. A good workout can net you at least 4 extra points.

Good luck,
Jenn

Way to go on loosing the weight.
Most veggies are 0 points like carrots and green beans. Also not sure if you like pickles or not but I do know that dill pickles are 0 points up to a certain amount.
You do know about the 35 extra points per week that you get right? Also you get activty points. You do not have to eat those points but you do earn them when you excercise. I am not one that excersices so I do not know off the top of my head how to figure that out but if you really want to know send me a private message and I will see what I can email you or mail to you. I just stopped going the 14th of May. I was within 10 lbs of my goal last year when I stopped nursing my son. I have since then put about 15 lbs back on so my husband said that if I am not going to continue to loose the weight then I need to save money and stop. So I did after all he is layed off and going to school so that means that I have to pay a babysitter so that I could go and pay for weight watchers which was not working because I choose to eat what I wanted instead of what I needed to be eating.
Good luck. I know how hard it is. Also you might want to check out www.dwl.com This lady has all kinds of stuff on her website including resturants and has the weight watchers points for their menues. It might also help you out some.

You know most vegetables are 0 points. Look for high fiber/low calorie options. Salsa is usually 0 points. Although it is getting warm, chili can usually be made with very few points. If you can get spaghetti squash, it is a great 0 point item, bake it and warm up some spaghetti sauce also low points. Because it can get watery don't add the sauce unlit the spaghetti squash is on your plate.

Are you breastfeeding? If so you get more points for that, too. And I think someone already mentioned about exercise gives you more points. Another good website is http://www.hungry-girl.com/ ....I see someone already gave you the dwlz.com...it has a lot of info. With Hungry Girl you can sign up for daily emails...they send recipes and other helpful info. Plus getting them daily helps you stay on track. :) I've bought 1 of the Hungry Girl cookbooks and it has a lot of great recipes! She has a new one out of 200 recipes under 200 calories. Good luck! You've done great losing 17 pounds!
