* WANTED * Portable DVD Player - What Do You Recommend?
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping to buy a portable DVD play that can be used on the back of a car seat for long rides and on the airplane. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on which make/model to get any why. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
P.

If you get one, please use it with caution in the car. One test showed that even when secured to the back of a car seat, a low impact crash can be dangerous for small children. http://news.scotsman.com/uk.cfm?id=1022082007

Hi P.,
My only advice here is to not go for cheap price. I have found out unfortunately, that so far, when it comes to portable DVD players, you get what you pay for. Our latest player was a very inexpensive one from Toys R Us- within 3 weeks, it started having problems. Ugh! But, we only paid $70.
Hope everything is going well. I sure wish we lived closer. :)
By the way, for anyone else reading this, my son LOVES his computer CD games and his regular CD's from P.'s company. They are awesome.

We bought the Audiovox one from Best Buy 2 years ago when we moved up here, & we love it! It's pricey, but totally worth it. And it's the biggest & most versatile. 10 inch screen, can be used as a TV with cable, can hook son's Leapster up to it, plays cd's with headphones, can be put in car several ways, has lasted very long,...
When this one gives out, we will be getting the same one!

Hi P.! We bought an Audiovox VBP800 about two years ago at Best Buy. We love it! It has traveled with us on vacation to Mexico, in the car and to Grandmommy's house. My oldest daughter uses it as her "tv" ... meaning she changes the DVD's, fastforwards and replays over and over and over again. The DVD player still works great even with all that extra attention from her. Now my 2 year old is learning how to use it. She likes stopping and restarting the movies. The DVD player is still going srong.
Hope this helps.

We bought a Philips Portable DVD player that we LOVE. It was not the least expensive, but it was also not the most expensive. We love it! My husband travels OFTEN for business and I finally had to go out and buy him one too so that he would stop taking the one from the car!
