Hi my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for about a year now. I have been seeing a fertility specialist due to the fact I am having a hard time getting pregnant. I was wondering if anybody knows if it is normal to feel dizzy and have some cramping after ovalation?

What can I do next?

Hi G.

I had in-vitro fertilization to get pregnant and I remember lots of dizzy spells. I think it's the hormones you are on. Try to drink lots of water and exercise if you can. If you don't already, take walks etc. to keep everything circulating.

By the way, after trying Perganol therapy and IUI for months, I got pregnant the first we tried in-vitro.

Good Luck

I can't answer that for you: I never had those symptoms after ovulation whether pregnant or not pregnant. But I thought I'd send along a link to the Taking Charge of Your Fertility message board (http://forums.ovusoft.com/). There are some great people over there going through the same thing that you are and they can be extremely helpful and supportive. I don't know if you are or ever have charted your cycles, but they're great with that, and there is a whole forum dedicated to people going through fertility treatments, too. They even have an ever-growing list of "early pregnancy signs and symptoms" that everyone reads and re-reads while trying to conceive.

Good luck! I hope that all your hard work and dedication pays off soon!

I always get cramps when I ovulate - I haven't noticed any dizziness, but the cramps I have gotten since I was a teenager - and was always told it was normal. It's usually a sharp pain on the right or left side, depending on where the egg is coming from.

Good luck!

I get VERY dizzy when I am just a few days pregnant, that's what gave away my last pregnancy! I get cramps, too, I guess it's the round ligaments moving. I hope you are preggo!

If you are on hormones to boost fertility then yes you will get dizzy. It could be a spike in blood pressure or fluid retention from the hormones causing the dizziness. How often does it happen? Is it when you bend over or get up only or always? ..Good luck, it's hard but it's so worth it..Right when we gave up we got pregnant and had two boys one after the other..

I have never heard of that, but you should look into this center .. http://www.domarcenter.com/ -- Reasearch Dr. Domar she has some great tips for becoming pregnant and I recall there was a fact that if you drank WHOLE MILK everyday that it would help increase your chances of getting pregnant.

Good Luck!

I am not sure about the dizzy part, but I do know that after a year of trying myself, the one time I did ovulate (and got pregnant) I had cramping afterwards. I hope that helps, and good luck with the getting pregnant journey. I understand the frustration to a point, the emotions... the doctor visits, and invasive testing. I pray that you do conceive soon! Best,
K.
