I'm sorry about your miscarriage - they are never easy.

It's not dumb. But I don't understand how your lack of insurance is stopping you from getting pregnant. If you can afford fertility pills - you can afford insurance, right? That means you've seen a doctor to get the prescription - unless you bought them "black market". So which is it?

If you can't afford insurance, then you can't afford a baby. They are expensive, you know that, right? I would STRONGLY suggest that you get yourself into a financial position that allows you to afford insurance and a baby...please don't make me pay for your baby.

If cannot afford health insurance, you cannot afford a baby. They say the average cost to raise a child is $300,000 or $17,000 per year.

I will agree with others on this. How can you not afford insurance and still get fertility pills? That is a contradiction that does not make sense. Either you have seen a doctor or you have not.

Can you explain to me the logic (or lack of...) behind getting pregnant without insurance? Please, don't make our hard earned tax dollars pay for your baby.

Get insurance, then seek out a doctor's opinion. And...grow up a bit.

I really don't understand how you can be trying to get pregnant if you lack insurance. You don't sound anywhere near ready for a baby. You need insurance!

I had a baby in feb and WITH insurance I've paid over 4,000. I can't imagine what that cost is without. Maybe consider that before havibg a baby.

If you don't have insurance, why are you trying to get pregnant? Get in a situation where you CAN get insurance, and then work on it again. Babies and pregnancies are expensive!

I would agree with everyone here.....if you can't afford insurance you definitely can't afford a baby. They are so expensive and with childcare the expenses only go up.

I would try and get yourself in a better situtation fiancially before even considering this. best of luck....I don't want to be a downer but just trying to be realistic.

I'm currently trying to conceive, but I waited to do so untill I had insurance. It's way too expensive without. Even though we have enough in savings to pay for it ourselves, we don't want to drain our savings account.

I wish you luck on your journey, but really suggest you get insured first.

You should probably get the insurance thing figured out first unless you plan to pay for all your prenatal and delivery charges out of pocket.

I just heard on the news this morning that they have linked the use of heavy make-up to infertility problems. So, if you are now or have been a heavy make-up user, stop with the make-up right away. You can't replace what the make-up has already destroyed, but you can stop it from doing more damage.

Woah, how did you respond to your own question? I didn't even know you could do that ;-) Hmm, interesting, in your response, your insurance through work should start on a certain day, not just a vague 'it will take forever to go through & be processed'. According to your contract, when does it start? That doesn't make sense at all, I work in HR. Unless you work for a really shady or dumb company, they would tell you the date the insurance is effective!

In regards to the TTC question itself, this is super obvious/dumb, but have you tracked your cycles? do you have normal cycles & ovulate on a certain day? not sure of your age or if that is a factor. I would just find out exactly when your insurance starts, what it covers, etc. and seek out a fertility specialist at that point, or ask your dr. what the next step is. If you truly DO have insurance through your work, it should be very soon that it goes through, right? In any case, good luck!

I had a D&C but after a birth not a miscarriage and was pregnant and had another baby 18 months later so I would not think that is the cause at all. Get insurance and then see a doctor or better yet, get insurance and relax and quit 'trying' so hard and I bet you'll be pregnant soon.

Having health insurance does not mean fertility treatment is a covered benefit. Very few will cover going to a fertility specialist. Not a priority. She could have tried Clomid, which is a very inexpensive drug to stimulate egg production, Can get it from any doctor. Every insurance I have had through my employer did not cover any fertility treatment at any time. I went to a fertility specialist for a work up and paid the $500 out of pocket. It was worth it to me to find out what was going on. Yes babies and fertility treatments are expensive, blah, blah, blah, lecture, lecture, lecture....Wish someone would come up with an answer to all the problems out there instead of stating the obvious. Annoying on this site lately!!

I have insurance through my work it just hasn't gone through yet.. For some reason everybody I work with says it take forever for it to I through and be processed... I'm not bein dumb about it. I'm just impatient I guess. I am not the type of person to have other ppl pay for my things. I'm very independent!

Wow that's crazy cuz last week something just told me I needed to quit wearing make up period! I had no idea it caused that and tonight ill ask my manager when my paper work says my insurance takes effect! I have been paying for my fertility pills out of pocket and I don't know if this helps at all but when I got pregnant on 09 I was on the pill because they said it temporarily desolves ovarian cyst.. Do I need to do that again?
