I too am a belly sleeper. When I had my two daughters body pillows weren't on the market yet. I used a medium firm King size pillow. It worked great! It allowed me to sleep as close to on my belly as was comfortable. The body pillows I have seen may have too much loft to be comfortable for a belly sleeper. Experiment... you may find a soft pillow works now, but later on a fatter pillow will be necessary. Body pillow may work well, too, especially for sleeping completely on one's side.

I was uncomfortable the last 2months of pregnancy and the body pillow was great!! I suggest trying it. I just told a pregnant colleague the same thing the other day. Hang in there, the end result is worth the sleepless nights and help to prepare you for what it will be like for the first few months. Congrats:)

I am pg too with my first child. I used to be a belly sleeper before pregnancy, but that became impossible early on. I couldn't get comfortable with regular pillows and I kept having to adjust the pillows all night long. My back also started to hurt. I bought a pregnancy pillow from Baby Love and it has been great. I got the kind that is shaped sort of like a "U" because I toss from side to side at night and didn't want to have to switch the pillow back and forth in the middle of the night. For me, it has definitely been worth it.

The body pillows are great. You can lay half way like almost on your stomach but on the pillow. They have them in the satiny type material which keeps you cool and comfortable. I used them during and after pregnancy. Congrat's and good luck.

They work! Go out and get yourself a body pillow and start sleeping better. I'm so addicted to my body pillows (Yes, I have 2..one on each side of me) that I cannot sleep without them. I bought my first one with my first pregnancy...the second with my second pregnancy and I slept a whole lot better with my third pregnancy... and they've never left my bed since. You don't need those "specialty" pregnancy pillows. Any body pillow (with enough loft) will do.

I generally sleep towards my right side with my left knee bent up on top of a big pillow, this worked for me through my pregnancy and still does. In the radiology field this position is called RAO right anterior oblique. I hope this helps, Good Luck! www.DiscoveryToysLink.com/LisaRyan
