Tried and True Gifts for 13Yo Girl

not really. all 13 year old girls are not the same, so i can't think that there are many 'tried and true' gifts that would apply across the board.
books and horseback riding lessons are the most universal ones i can come up with.

These was actually a topic the other night with my friends. It was 'controversial' because some of the girl that age asked for the Kylie Jenner lip kit. The mom was saying she will not support that family and buy their products. So make-up or any item, but not from a person you don't want to support. A popular idea was an event (major concert or sporting event).

Get her tickets to a ballet in a larger nearby city, and make it a big deal - go shop together fir a new dress and shoes to wear a week or so in advance, have a nice dinner before the show.

I think this is such a weird age - and what my 13 year old wants may not be what your 13 year old wants. My daughter's big gift is a pair of wireless Beats solo headphones. She loves planners, so she is getting an Erin Condren planner. She's getting Kylie lip gloss, Converse shoes, books, a couple of board games, some clothes, and a few gift cards.

My kids and local niece do a gift swap, she just decided she wants one of the adult coloring books for that exchange.

She will love everything she is getting, but again, this is all particular to her. Some of her friends want NOTHING like she wants.

Nothing that my older daughter loved my younger daughter loved. Not only did things change but different kids so sorry, no tried and true anything. You have to actually know your own child. It isn't like little kids where you grab the hot item and you win

My teen nieces both wish for Uggs boots. Books. A really soft fuzzy fleece. It seems to me that any 13 year old wishes for electronics.

I'm sorry, when my daughter was 13?! It was about to be Y2K - so DVDs and CDs were the RAGE!!!

Why not take her some place special? Why not create a memory instead of buying her something she can wear?! DO SOMETHING - GO SOMEWHERE!! Ice skating, skiing, weekend trip - SOMETHING together.

My 18 yo wanted a mermaid blanket so we are getting one for our 13 yo too. They are also getting Mama Mia tickets and tickets to a Bruce Springsteen tribute band. My 13 yo also wants stuff from bath and body works as well as Victoria Secret everything. I bought them PJs as well as the usually new purses and earrings. My girls are into theatre so they are getting a few theatre related things (books, scripts etc.)

gift cards to her favorite store, cash to go clothing shoping with, and books ahve been hits with our teen nieces an nephews

I'm all about the gift of experiences. How about a flying trapeze lesson, or a hot air balloon ride, a day at the museum, skiing, skating, rock climbing, a concert, a series of ceramics sessions, whatever you think she might fancy and is doable nearby.

Maybe a more expensive clothing-related item, like nice boots or an elegant new winter coat? (With a receipt to exchange them.) Something like $200 boots might not be the type of thing she would pick out for herself, but if she would enjoy them, could be a nice gift.

Or a nice luggage set / nice duffel bags, if she will be traveling for gymnastics? Could be leather or something like Le Sportsac or Vera Bradley if she likes that. (Could get a matching purse too.)

For fun, maybe some of those "adult coloring books" that are popular now, if she would enjoy that as a winter activity. Or some other craft-type thing that she might enjoy.

Does she like to make things? When I was that age, I loved getting kits to make things. Okay, so I'm old and it was stuff like latch hook rugs and paint by number, lol! I have 3 nieces and they love the adult coloring books with gel pens or glittery pencils, the kits like stained glass art, and even jewelry making ones. They also liked the ones where you can grow crystals. They really like the cutesy lip balms like in a cupcake tin or a little can of mountain dew and such. If she is a reader, there are tons of books for her age in a variety of interests or maybe a few books and gift card to barnes and noble or kindle if she has one. For stocking stuffers, I and my nieces have liked fun little bath and body items in fragrances like vanilla cookie or cotton candy and colorful socks/cute animal slippers. If she likes jewelry you could start her on a charm bracelet. Nail art is tons of fun too.

Gift card to target. Not fun for you to give but they've got everything and she can get what she wants when she wants.
