I need some suggestions on a place for my son to sleep/nap when we travel for some weddings in May. He is going to be right at 3 months and I am planning to transition him to a crib finally. But, we will be going to a wedding the first weekend of May before I transition him. Currently, he sleeps in his bouncer or swing at night or during naps. He is starting to sleep more soundly and learning to self-sooth/sleeping through the night, so I'm hoping when I do transition he will do well. However, I need somewhere for him to sleep on this trip. I can't do the pack and play since he's not a crib sleeper yet (plus he hates it more then the crib). Does anyone have any suggestions? I need it to be a relatively cheap solution if possible too.
Oh and I know co-sleeping is an option, but I'm actually having to share the bed with a friend of mine (It was cheaper for the king bed) and she is not comfortable co-sleeping with my child for obvious reasons lol
THe bouncy seat won't fit in my car. I unfortunately have not had the money to upgrade yet to my bigger "mom-sized" travel car lol. Between the stroller, car seat, and luggage, will be tapped out on space for big things.
My SIL put her baby in the suitcase (left open on the floor) when she had no where else to put him. He was about 3-4 months I think.
Call the hotel and see if the have a bassinet available for you.
Check with the hotel first to see what they have. Then I would ask the people that are hosting the wedding if perhaps they might have a friend that would be willing to loan something like that for the night? You could even pull a drawer out of the dresser, put it on the floor, pad it up and make a bed out of it.
We used the PeaPod travel bed by KidCo when we traveled with our son to an out of town wedding was he was 4 months old. It folds down and fits into the suitcase.
Can he sleep in his car seat? Another option is the baby tent, I have one made by KidCo - I think it was less than 40 bucks? It goes on the floor, has a thin inflatable mattress, and zips up so they can't roll out. I think I bought it at babies r us.

The tent fits in a small round bag that's about a foot or so in diameter and a couple inches thick.
LOL, we had our son (4 months old) sleep in our suit case one time! Our hotel didn't have a crib, so we put a pillow in the suit case on the floor and swaddled him up for a snooze. Obviously we put the top of the suitcase out of the way so it didn't fall on top of him.
How about a pack and play? Can you take the bouncy seat as an extra option? You could also just layer heavy blankets on the floor and make him a nice soft place to sleep.
P.S. Don't forget your night light for the hotel room.
Our daughter sleeps in the fisher price rock n play. It's awesome. So cozy. It folds very flat (easily). Not sure what the length is off the top of my head
