Hi Im back! I need advise from all of you experienced great mommies. I have a two year old baby girl and I am wondering whether to vaccinate or not to. Since we are heading into our "flu season" and with this new H1N1 flu virus. I am debating whether to vaccinate or not to. She was sick last year two times with the flu and we were out for about 3 days from daycare and work. (which I almost got fired for) but now this time I am debating whether to do it or not. Last year she did get vaccinated by her pediatrician. Her pediatrician did tell me to take her for the vaccine as soon as it became available, but I have friends who tell me not to vaccinate her. And to top it off this month we are going to go visit my parents for a weekend at Michigan. And I know that it's going to be colder out there than what it is here. I am seeking advice from you experienced mommies out there. I need to know what you think I should do. She attends daycare full time M-F. So she is around other kids every day. Please advise.

What can I do next?

Yes! Get that shot or if she can have it so young, the nose spray one. The flu is nasty and with being around kids, all the more reason!

Tough decision. I had a vaccine injured child (seizures). With the amazing help of our family Chiropractor, we have reversed this. We have stopped all vaccines for our son, and our new daughter. This is a personal decision, I know. I did my research. Trust me, alot of it! I suggest you do your research and come to your own conclusion. And Pray that the decision is clear to you. www.cdc.gov ( search vaccine ingredients) and wwwbrainguardmd.com are two excellent websites.. google each vaccine ingredient, and you might be suprised at what the Government allows to be put into our vaccines. And just to note, the H1N1 vaccine has been fast tracked. This allows the vaccine to avoid alot of redtape in it's manufacturing process, so I would be very careful using that one especially.
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help, I pray that you find a decision that works best for your family.
God Bless
L.

Sounds like you need reassurance to vaccinate. There is no good reason not to. Why not give yourself a leg up if the advancements in medicine are there?. I bet the flu would have been worse if you didn't vaccinate last year. I just don't understand why not to.

Do it & request the oral flu vaccine. She's old enough.

Well I am usually pro-vaccination because we do live in crowded conditions and many diseases have been eradicated by vaccines that were once fatal. However I will not be getting my two year old son the swine flu vaccine because I want to wait and see that they have worked out any kinks before my little boy gets it. It is a brand new vaccine and I don't want to be in the group that suffers complications of a vaccine that was made in a rushed manner. However, my son doesn't go to daycare so you do have a real point there. I will say my son came down with a really bad flu last season and I asked was it swine flu. They said no but that they would treat it with the same anti-virals anyway. It was caught early and my son is very healthy so there is really no reason to think that he would not have recovered regardless. I still breathed a sigh of relief when I found out it was regular old flu though! So I am not going to do it until I feel the vaccine has been tested more and is proven to be safe. I have heard a lot of reports that several came down with terrible cases after taking the vaccine. Best wishes in your decision, I know it is not an easy one to make.

Good Morning,

I don't see why you would not get the flu vaccine. This year, it is a mist for my 6 and 8 yo, and they got it at their pediatrician. Walgreens and other pharmacies also have it available. My 6yo did feel off for a day, but that was it. Last year, he had the flu (not swine flu) twice and was not vaccinated!

Now, the swine flu vaccine is separate and is not available yet as far as I know. We'll get it. I would hate for one of us to get sick after passing on the swine flu vaccine. Its true that a flu shot can make you feel bad for a day or two, but thats better than risking getting the swine flu. We'll see!
