Tinkerbell Birthday Party Ideas on a Budget

Hi! any ideas on making party favor or goody bag treats for 5 year girl tinkerbell birthday party on a budget.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

well, the party was a success, so I think! I went to the dollar tree store and picked up some fairy wings for 99 cents and decorated them with spring flowers then I used the clear sparkly paint to spruce them up a little, we had pink, purple, blue, orange and green wings and fruity flavored lip gloss rings, some bracelets I made for then girls and necklaces. The boys I found some pirate toy at the dollar tree and stickers. But what I think the childern enjoyed the most was playing the games. I found the cutest tinkerbell cake with all the pixie faires for under $50 at Starter Bros. over by the Mt. San Jacinto College. Staters also makes Princess, Strawberry Shortcake and Spiderman, Hulk Cakes as well. It was such a wonderful time for my daughter and her friends from school.
But best of all I didn't have the mess afterward. I strongly recomment The Big Cheese Pizza Co. P.S. My daughter dressed up as tinker bell she looked so cute. P.S. Thanks alot to all those mommy's for the cool ideas.

Even though this has nothing to do with tinker bell I always make playdough and put that in my kids party bags. Maybe you could a tinker bell type cookie cutter and put that in there too. Playdough is a great toy for all kids and it is easy to make.

Small baggies of pixie dust ( glitter), fairy crowns ( wire circle crowns with ribbon), make a pinata and print out a cute tink picture to put on the side and glitter inside for when it breaks open, a scavenger hunt to Caption Hooks treasure ( just around the house, park, etc), make tink wings for each child ( wire colored hose w/ glitter and paint if you want),make petal skirts, fairy wands ( get the cheap wands from the dollar store and dress them up), take butcher paper and trace the kids shadow for them to color or just hang them along a wall for decoration. Good luck!

I agree with some of the other responses that favors may not be necessary but crafts are a good substitute. Have the girls makes wands (maybe on Home Depot stir sticks. they are free and you could paint them ahead of time and then decorate at the party.) Make the girls fairy crowns like at the fairs ... use star garland and ribbon. Maybe find each girl a pair of wings at the dollar store. If you do that then they will all go home with a fairy costume as their party favor. Also to save money... dont buy everything tinkerbell... Get a few key decorations with Tinkerbell and then coordinate solid colors that match (ususally less expensive than the character items). I love the treasure hunt idea. We just did one with a moms group and they had cheap stuff like colored craft sticks, stickers, colored paperclips stuff that they kids could take home to put in their craft box and some other character toys *rings,.... Save yourself money on the cake too. Make cupcakes (from a box) and put a ring or something on top. Your daughter would love to you. Good luck and have fun.

I have actually seen Tinker Bell stuff at the dollar store and also Target. The dollar store may even have ballons cheaper too. Make your own cake and that will save alot and don't give those really expensive goody bags. Find a small toy, wand or headpiece and that can be the treat. Any kind of picture you cand have the kids glue glitter on is also another fun thing to be able to take home. Go out in the yard and have each child tie a ballon to their leg. Them have them stomp the ballons to pop them the and the one whose ballon pops and is full of glitter or "Pixie dust" is the winner. You can make wands as simple as colored straws and sparkly pipe cleaners.
Hope this helps!

I've seen white foam star wands with ribbons at Michael's in the foam crafts section of the store. You could buy some spray adhesive and glitter for them. Pour some glitter onto a paper plate, spray the foam star portion of the wand with spray adhesive then quickly press into plate of glitter to cover surface. Do this on both sides. You can even add some colorful ribbons to the plain white ones on the wooden rod of the wand to make it super girly.

Face painting could be a inexpensive alternative to goodie bags. You can paint cute fairy/pixie themed objects, like a toadstool, butterfly, stars, hearts, flowers, etc. You can even add glitter to these too.

I would make 'lil pixie dust bags too. You could use the 'lil sheer fabric pull-string bags or small cellophane bags. Put a small amount of glitter and/or star confetti. Make a fun tag that says "pixie dust" and attach to bag with pretty ribbon.

You could buy some plain silver hair clips or bobby pins and attach fake flowers and ribbon with a hot glue gun and put them in the 'lil girls hair when they arrive to the party.

I agree with a previous response about cupcakes. So much cheaper and just as tasty! Decorate with some fun colored frosting and pretty sprinkles and perhaps a toy ring, inexpensive lollipop, or make your own cupcake topper by printing out some cute fairy graphics on your computer, smaller size, cut out, have your daughter color, and attach to a toothpick with some tape and stick it in the cupcake.

Handmake your own "pin the wings on the pixie" with some poster board and cut out wings.

A variation of "hot potato" could be "pass the pixie". Have the kids stand in a circle, pass around a Tinkerbell doll to music. And when the music stops, whoever is holding the doll has to step out of the circle. The last person gets a small prize.

You can buy bubbles for the kids and print out your own label to attach to the bubbles. Have your daughter color it and have it say "thanks for making my birthday MAGICAL" or "thank you FAIRY much for coming" or "I TINK it's great you came to my party" etc.

Hope these help. I love throwing my kids parties. My son and daughter are having a luau next month. They are 6 days apart so I figured I might as well combine them! Hope your party turns out great!

Don't make too big of a deal out of it... Just some plastic jewelry (rings, bracelets, y'know those cheap things you get at a dollar store) and some fluffy hair ties or barrettes (again, dollar store), some tinkerbell stickers, and throw in some fruit snacks or little bags of cookies to make them look bigger! You don't have to make everything Tinkerbell-y, just get some little tinkerbell bags (those will probably be the most expensive item!) or else some plain bags, and decorate them with tinkerbell stickers and the kids names.

I'm not a huge fan of candy, especially cheap candy, but I found pixie stix at Michael's for my 6 year old's fairy tea party.
