Hello moms, I need help finding hip, flattering, great one piece (or tankini) bathing suits for my 34DD top. All the cute suits do not fit me on top. Sexy is nice, but hanging out all over is not for me. I'm a size 4 or 6 otherwise but need a size 12 -14 to find a top that works! I'd love to find a real bra top that supports and shapes, too.The ones that do have a bra top and come in larger sizes are dowdy grandma suits. Anyone else have this issue? Any brands, websites to look for that cater to this problem? Would love your guidance if you have it to lend! Thanks.

Lands End -- you can order top that fits and bottom that fits.
They have suits with soft cup and underwire bras options as well.

I love the selection at Lands End! They have great suits in general and good, fitted, undewired bathingsuit tops.

I'm a size 4, 34DD/DDD. I have bought from both figleaves.com and Lands End. Figleaves has much more selection. I have never had any luck and Victoria's Secret- for bras or swimwear.

I absolutely love Land's End.

The fact that you can mix and match top/bottom sizes and styles is great. They have a wide selection on line and a great return policy.

Happy swimsuit hunting!!

I have purchases swimsuits from Landsend only for the last 10 years. There's no other that compares. I get the DD tankini tops. They're very flattering.

Land's End has some great swimsuits, as does LL Bean. Eddie Bauer might; I haven't gotten a catalog yet with any swimsuits in it, so I haven't seen what they're carrying. JCPenny used to carry some wonderful swimsuits for the bigger miss sizes; this past last year, though, I haven't noticed anything but teeny-bopper swim suits, which I can't wear. (I'm bigger on top than the bottom as well, so I also have a very hard time finding swimsuits I like/fit me). JCPenny's might carry different lines in different areas of the country; I would check with them. One other place I know also carries a wide selection is Macy's.

Athleta. Not cheap, but they are meant for the active woman.

I'm very petite and also have a large chest. I have found a great suit at Lime Ricki. You might want to size up, because they are a bit snug and offer a lot of support. They don't have a huge selection right now, because they clearance out the last collection for the new spring/summer collection. The prices are great right now, though! They have free returns, if they don't fit.

Can you try Lane Bryant for just the tops (tankini)? I bought my swimsuit there last year and love it. They have really great styles.

Do you have a Dillards near you. I remember a few years ago when I was shopping Dillards sold tops that were actual bra sizes, no SML. This maybe your best bet. I can't remember the brand, sorry. I would try to find in stores before ordering, the shipping will get you if you have to return.

Yes, I have this problem. Try Athleta, either a store or online. They have mix and match tankinis. The one I have currently can also be used as a jogging top. I also currently have a cute tankini top with a bra insert from Profile by gottex. I think I got it at Macy's. I usually get my bottoms from Land's End.

Does your mall have a "Everything but Water" store or something like that?

I am a size 2 very petite except for natural perky 34DD's. You can buy separates at places like this which is what I have to do. Do expect to pay more when you purchase separates. I think each piece I bought was $75.

I typically wear a halter style top and cute bikini bottoms. I also have some bottoms that are bikini but have a sheer little skirt on thm that is really cute. I like the support of the halter style tops. I will not wear a one piece because there are none to fit my size 2 booty and large boobs.

I agree to stay out of Victoria's secret because they can't supply anything for the needs of a busty woman.

A tankini is most likely your best bet since you can custom match a top that fits with a smaller bottom. Even if you have to go with a different brand, bottoms can usually be found in solid colors anywhere that would match any top.

This is cute!

I would stay away from Victoria's secret because their sizes don't really go up to a true DD. Two of my neices are DD's but 32 and 34 around their backs. So I get their suits from Venus. www.venus.com

Have you looked at Land's End? You buy the top separate from the bottom. You can get a tankini top that makes it look like a one piece suit. And the bottom can be like a skirt but prettier and not dowdy looking. Land's End has a good return policy if you don't like what you got.

Try that!

I've had the same issue, but now I don't wear swimsuits anymore.

Victoria's Secret has mix and match sets, so you can mix up sizes and styles if you want a two-piece.

I second the "Everything but Water"...that's where i shop when im skinny because my top is so much bigger than my bottom. And the tops are sized by bra size.

Now, i avoid anything not requiring being fully dressed or i wear a cover up.

Bravissimo.com
on the expensive side, but worth it not to look like you mommed out. I'm a 34 DD and love the bikinis. Not sure if they have a great tankini/ one piece selection. Tops sold by bra size and bottoms S,M,L...

I imagine one pieces would be harder, though I bet Victoria's Secret has some one pieces that offer different cup sizes.
I know Land's End and J Crew sell tankini pieces seperately so you could order different size tops and bottoms.

Lane Bryant for a top and then fin coordinated solid elsewhere. The Lane Bryant tops actually are the "bra top" you are looking for.

Another vote for Lands' End. I'm a 32DDDD, so it's always been hard to find a top that works. Plus size stores are out because I'm not plus size. Lands' End has a huge selection and I now wear a tankini from them that actually has a top that fits! I love that you can mix and match tops and bottoms.

Check out victoriassecret.com

I used to order suits from there and it was great that you can order ones that are specific to your bra size. One of the lines of suits allows you to do that...I want to say it is the "Miracle Bra" swimsuit line or something like that.

And I promise they VS does NOT have dowdy grandma suits!! :-)

Good luck!!
