Swallowed a Medium Sized Pebble

My 3 year old daughter swallowed a medium sized pebble while she was being babysat. She tells me that its stuck in her throat and that it hurts. I dont know what to do, she can eat and breath but im really nervous. What should i do?

What do you mean by medium sized pebble? Are we talking pea gravel sized cause my kids ate that all the time and other than making the poop interesting it harmed them in no way.

Obviously if it is really lodged in there you will need a doctor to remove it. If she is eating and breathing it isn't life threatening. If it really is lodged in there you will want it out before she falls asleep in case it shifts and does hamper her breathing.

If it's stuck, she needs to go to the ER. My daughter swallowed a little glass disk and had to go to the ER last year. She could breath, but it was obviously hurting her. Luckily, she vomited it up before the Doc had to do anything, but he said if it passes through the throat, it's ok, it will come out the other end, but if not, they have to take it out.
