Sun Screen That Doesn't Hurt His Eyes

I have tried waterproof baby sunscreen and sport sunscreen but when we go to the water feature parks my 14 month old usually ends up in tears because the sunscreen goes into his eyes then he rubs his eyes getting more into his eyes from his arms and hands.
Does anyone have any ideas???

Hi S., I have a three month old and we went to the pool for the first time yesterday. I bought Banana Boat Baby Tear Free and it is SPF 50. I found it at Wal-Mart for about $6.50. It worked wonderfully and it even got in her eyes a little bit but didn't bother her at all. Let it sit at least 15 minutes before going in the water. Good luck!

I think the stick sunscreen is best for the face. It doesn't run into the eyes and covers really well. Hope that helps.

There are many stick sunscreens available--named brand and generic for baby faces. These don't run and are easy to apply!! We had the same problem with lotions!

I usually don't apply much suncreen to my son's hands for that reason. On his face I put in in my hands rub it in a little and wipe it lightly across his cheeks, forehead and ears. I try to stay away from the eyes or using a lot of it. I'd just reapply more often lightly. And it seems to have worked.

My sister in law I know had the same problem with my neice when she was little. She usually applied a thick amount to where her cheeks were white and trying to rub it in can be a chore also.

I don't think there is any miracle cream out there, and sounds like your doing everything every other mother is doing. It is always hard to see your little one cry in discomfort, at least your trying.

You mau have already tried this, but we use the baby sunscreen that is in the stick form. It has worked well for us on the face because it doesn't run or drip because it is a solid. Anyway, hope you find something that works.

We have the same problem with our 16-month old. I just went out and bought Banana Boat's "No Tears" baby sunscreen. I haven't tried it yet but I'm hoping it works. If you have already tried this, let me know. Otherwise, it may do the trick! Thanks,
A.
