We installed pretty high quality carpet about 5 years and now that our little one is crawling around, we want to have it cleaned. I am looking for input from all you smart Moms out there as to what type of cleaning process to use and referrals to a good carpet cleaning company. Steam-cleaning, Oxy-fresh, or dry products like Host??? What are the pros and cons of these? Do you have a service that you love?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the reponses. We ended up having Allied Carpiet Cleaning come out and steam clean the carpets. "Josh" did a great job and it was very affordable, especially with Cheri's discount.

I have used Allied Carpet Cleaning many times as referred to by a friend, but I have also heard from neighbors that Heaven's Best is a good one.

Hooray for late motherhood! I have no ideas on good carpet cleaning (my husband has allergies, so we have very few area rugs...) but I'm always thrilled to hear of other older moms out there. I'm 42, with my first and only child now 15 months old. We need to start an older mom's chatboard. Cheers! -Rebecca

there is a guy who is named Steve and he owns his own company named Heavenly carpet cleaning, he is great and more importantly he is cheap! I recommend him highly as I had a big company come out first and it was more than double. His number is ###-###-####. You are calling his house so if a kid answers and does say the company name, do not think you have the wrong #.

We have nice quality carpet. We have always used steam cleaning. Other cleaning to me feels like there is a residue of something on the carpet.....I never liked that. Also, I think most carpet companies would say on high quality carpet use steam cleaning. We have used 2 family owned companies to clean our carpet since living in Littleton. One is Allied carpet cleaning, ###-###-####. If you say you are a referral from me (C. Neill) I think they will give you 10 or 25% off. They do a really good job. The other company is Chapple's carpet cleaning, ###-###-####. We had them do our carpet when we first moved in. They were a little more expensive than Allied but went a little above and beyond doing some extras for free. I don't know if they do a referral discount. Both companies have done a good job for us. Good luck.
