Stubborn Yeast
Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of a stubborn yeast infection naturally? I've tried Candaclear which is a homeopathic suppository. I went through two cycles of that and this is after trying a prescription cream. With each treatment a few days after I complete it the itching starts. My doctor has prescribed diflucan but I really want to avoid taking it if I can help it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi J..
I have always found acidophelus to do the trick - The spelling may be off, but you can find it in the health food store or your better supermarkets.
For me, it's about avoiding too much sugar; I used to think that I didn't intake much sugar, until I kept track....
So, start with the acidophelus, lot of water and lessen your sugar intake - because infections are such a hassle.
hope this helps,
R.

When we, or the children take antibiotics without taking probiotics, the result is the production of yeast (for many children with autism or ADHD the cause of course are vaccinations); anyway, diflucan is the best thing to take, and then you can continue with natural antiyeasts such as grapefruit extract, etc. If the yeast is very stubborn, you can even rotate several natural antiyeasts at a time - take one for one or two weeks, then change to another one for another two weeks, and then take another one, etc, until it dissappears. Some cases of yeast remain for months or years.
good luck.

I feel for you, I have had chronic issues with infection in the past.
Salt in the bathwater, epsom. Let yourself soak, no soap or bubble bath - just warm water and the salt.
Then wear a dress or skirt without underwear to allow the air in.
Best wishes!

I wish you well in the ongoing process of fighting yeast infections. My daughter (now 21) had problems with chronic vaginal yeast infections for over two years. She went to the doctor and what they advised (including diflucan) never worked for long. She made drastic changes to her diet, including kefir (from Whole Foods), and excluding all sugars She also tried to reduce stress (easier said than done), but she had found a correlation between more stressful times at school (finals) and flares of yeast infections. She still limits sugar and tries to keep kefir in her diet, and (knock on wood) she has not had a flare now for some time. I wish you well with this tenacious problem. You'll get a handle on it!

Definitely find your food or medication triggers. Mine is dairy and sugar (usually in the form of ice cream :-)). In my case I would avoid triggers for several weeks, sometimes months and I would take Probiotics.
I would encourage you to keep taking the homeopathic remedy, as they sometimes take longer due to their subtle energetic mechanisms.
Good Luck.

It's been years since I had a yeast infection, so I'm not sure what's out there right now, but Monistat always used to work.
I used to have chronic yeast infections, I would get one approx. every three months. They went away when I discovered I had hypothyroidism and got on thyroid replacement medication. If you get yeast infections a lot have your thyroid checked.
People won't like this but homeopathic remedies won't work because they contain no active ingredient. Check out how they are made.
p.s. - Is it only itching or is there discharge?, the cottage cheesy (sorry folks) type? If it's only itching it might be something else.
