Hi Mamas,
My baby will be 3mos on the 15th. I should have started my normal period on or around Aug 10th. Three weeks later nothing. I know I'm not pregnant. How long did it take you to start your normal period after birth?

Edit:
I'm not breast feeding anymore. I did for the 1st 4wks. I haven't had a period since I stopped bleeding after I had her (4weeks post) around July 10th. I thought my period would have started around the 10th of this month...

What can I do next?

Your period sort of resets after pregnancy. You don't go back to a normal cycle after you stop postpartum bleeding. Your hormones are still adjusting. Even though you are no longer nursing, your hormones are still not pre-pregnancy. Since you are no longer nursing, you may resume ovulating in the near future. Watch for other ovulation signs and it will give you a clue as to when your period may start.

Are you nursing?
6 months w/ my first.
8 months w/ my second. Though I am not sure I would call them regular. ;)

Has your period already returned?
I guess I'm confused-more info please! :)
Sorry if this is of no help...

Oh, ok. Yeah, there is no way to know when it will show up-breastfeeding or not. ;)
Just enjoy life w/o it for right now!

If you're breastfeeding it's TOTALLY normal. With all 3 of my girls I didn't get my period until about a month after I weaned.....and then it took a few months to get regular. Enjoy it! lol

I breastfed my baby for 4 weeks. I had to stop because of the strong medication I was on for a mrsa infection. I didn't start my period until my baby was 5 mos old. However, I think the delay was in part due to the meds.
Anyway, it's normal to take a while- esp if you breastfed at all.

Just because you stopped breast feeding doesn't mean your body returns to a pre-pregnancy state. You still have a lot of hormones in your body. Your period may not be normal for a year!
