Starting Potting Training

I would just start taking her on a regular bases... have a potty party! set aside a day when all you do is potty train. Have snacks like popcorn and pretzels that make her thirsty and have lots of different juices and sodas and such. Then take her potty every 20 min. and really get excited and clap and Cheer every time she does. it worked on my daughter! just whatever you do, stick to it! Good luck!

I have potty trained two kids recently not that I am a pro but I start by taking them on a regular basis. Anytime they pee or poop we make a HUGE DEAL!!! AS soon as they kinda fo a little bit I take pull ups and diapers away just at home and they wear their panties or underware and that helped with both of them. Once they get it down at home I take them away when we go out. Every kid is so different so what works for one doesn't always work for another! My son was EXTREMELY hard and my daughter was SUPER easy!

I started training my daughter after she turned two, and sometimes she would tell me that she needed to go and sometimes she would go in her pull ups. I notice that when she has a cup of milk or juice, it's usually about 15-20mins later she would have to go, and I would put her on the toilet. I introduced the disney princess underwear to her, and she was real excited to wear them, so that helped. She had accidents every now and then.. we started her wearing her underwear for a few hours here and there, and eventually longer, till it was just diapers when we go out, and eventually only at night, and slowly I stopped letting her drink about 2-3 hours before bed, and started letting her wear her underwear to bed. I think the most important thing is her understanding of her body, and her bladder control. I know at the begining, she would go on the toilet, and say 10mins later her diaper would be wet again...
I talked to her and explained that the diaper was dirty and made her butt stinky, and when she would wet her diaper I would hold my nose and tease her that she had a stinky butt, and when she was good and wet on the toilet we would clap and kiss and praise that she did good. (It was funny cause for awhile whenever she went on the toilet she would make us clap if we forget to praise her)....
Now at 2 years and 8 months, she can hold her bladder through the night, and would wake up early morning around 5am (if she had to something to drink at night) to have me take her to the bathroom and then she would go back to sleep. Overall it took us about 3-6months to learn the whole process.

My sister took her little girl to the bathroom everytime she went and said, "ok, it's time to go potty" and they would both go. She said it helped her learn to go potty on her own. Now with teaching her how to let you know 'when' she has to go, that will be tricky. I have a two and half year old son and I'm going to be starting this trick myself. But I know with boys, it takes a while. Best of luck. G.

I just finished potty training my boy just after he turned 3. The thing that really got him to take to it was buying him the cotton training pants and taking him to try every so often during the day. When they wet the cotton pants it is much more uncomfortable to them. I have an 18 year old daughter and remember this also worked for her when she was around 2 years old. I hope this helps and remember to expect accidents and having to do the clean up.

You can start sitting her on the toilet every hour for 10 minutes or just wait until she tells you that she went on her pull-up so that you know around the times that she is ready to sit on the toilet. It took me 1 month to potty train my daughter and I used stickers as reinforcements for every time that she completed a step. For example, she gets a different sticker for sitting on the toilet, peeing, going number 2, flushing, wiping, washing hands.
