Spanish Classes
Hi, my 5 year-old son has really shown an interest in Spanish. I would love to get him into something where he could really learn. Does anyone know of any classes offered locally or anyone who teaches in their home? Thanks for any information!

Hi A., I think PlayTime in Keller Town Center and the one on Beach St. across from WalMart offer Spanish Classes as well.

My 5 year old son attends the Spanish Schoolhouse in Grapevine. Three days a week, they speak spanish only. I know they have summer camp coming up. They also have several locations.

We are raising our three-year-old daughter bilingually although neither of us grew up speaking more than English. It can be done! Classes are wonderful and there are other ways to increase this knowledge too. FYI - A wonderful book called The Bilingual Edge is available and written by two moms who are linguists.
Also, there are CDs with kids' music in Spanish; DVDs for kids with Spanish tracks; bilingual books at libraries and bookstores. A CD that I'd recommend for you can be ordered on-line at www.professorpocket.com. It is called: Professor Pocket Our Silly Farm Adventure and is a Dr. Toy Best Products Winner, Summer 2007. If you use the code ENSENINOS, you will receive free shipping!
I started my own small business Enseniños last summer teaching young kids Spanish (thus the code given above for free shipping - professional courtesy). Feel free to contact me with any more questions and I'll be happy to help you anyway I can.
Oh, and KUDOS to you for introducing your young kids to a beautiful world language. The benefits of early exposure to a second language are tremendous!

I have heard that the Fort Worth public library has on-line Rosetta Stone (best part-it's free) I am not sure about the age of user but you can check it out. It's my understanding you just need a library card. Good luck.
