My last period was on July 10th so I am not ready to start my next one. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a few months now with our second child. Recently I have had VERY sore breast, moodiness, emotional and tiredness. I have taken 3 home pregnancy test and all have been negative. I am begining to think that I want to be pregnant so bad that my body has me thinking I am. My breast will get a little sore a few days before my period but this has been going on for over a week now. A few months ago my period was 10 days late which was unusual for me went to have a blood test done and it was also negative. I am so anxious to know what is going on. I do not have health insurance right now so cant afford to go to the doctor. Could I be pregnant and the test just not showing it yet? I just thought if there was enough hormones present already to cause the symptoms then surely there was enough present for a positive test. Any help would be great!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Ok so I understand all the comments about the insurance situation. I have a degree in Healthcare administration and i know the improtance of healthcare. Maybe I should have been more specific about the coverage. My husbands employer changed comapnies while filling out the paper work he put the wrong information down for me. I will have coverage by the end of the week that will continue as long as he is employed. So I have not been trying to get pregnant without coverage! I am 35 years old and have a little more sense than some of you are giving me credit for. It has bothered me that the post have been more about me having insurance than trying to help answer my question. To those of you who have answered my question with advice THANK YOU and I appreciate others being concerened about my coverage but i was more interested in advice on the question I posted.

Usually a week or two before my period my breast get sore, that started about a year or so after I had my daughter. It is mainly hormones but sometimes it can be something else.

I would wait another week and take a test again. It's possible to be pregnant and it not show yet.
If you aren't pregnant, You might want to consider waiting until you have health insurance to get pregnant. You mentioned you can't afford going to the Dr. Babies are much more expensive than a Dr visit and when you are pregnant, you go to the Dr a lot.
Good luck!

Please don't wait. Spend the $60 to go to a minute clinic or something and have it looked at.

At 4 weeks postpartum, my underarm started hurting. The OB rushed me in, did a thorough breast exam, sent me for a breast ultrasound, and found nothing. 3 weeks later, I found a small lump on my collarbone. Again, rushed in for an ultrasound. It took another 3 weeks, but they did find that I had cancer (Hodgkins lymphoma).

I don't think you have cancer, but your health providers are trained not to mess around with breast issues. Waiting for an insurance glitch could only make whatever is going on much worse.

Over 200K women in the US are diagnosed each year. It's serious enough to spend the money for peace of mind.

You may not be able to afford a regular doctor but you may consider going to a clinic instead. They may do some kind of sliding scale fee thing which would be a greatly reduced fee or you could even go to your local department of Health & Human services and find out what your local or county government has to offer in the way of health care.

Just curious, why are you trying to get pregnant without healthcare? (Rhetorical question) I would consider waiting for better timing or see not getting pregnant right now as an opportunity to get your ducks in order. You have no idea what your next pregnancy will hold. Please plan for the best situation for you and baby. I hope this helps.

Sometimes your Quantitative HCG could be low and still pregnant.. It also could be hormone imbalance. Yes, it could also be your wanting to be pregnant and having a false pregnancy.. Only a dr or midwife could really answer these questions. Stress can cause our hormones to get off balance... I would go see a medical professional... Good luck getting pregnant.

Very sore breasts was the first very early symptom I had with my first pregnancy; if you have NEVER had that as a PMS symptom the odds are pretty high you could be pregnant and are testing too early. I would wait until at least one day after the day you are due to get your period.

We have been trying for over 2 years now and I have had sore breast many times with out a positive test. So I have come to realize that they comes with hormones going up and down so it is not longer a true sign of being pregnant. To much caffeine can and will make them hurt. You could go to the health department or some where and get a blood test done, or just wait and see if you cycle starts for your new month. Hang in there.

M.,

I suffered with sore breasts for a long time before finally mentioning it to my doctor. She said that sometimes too much caffein can cause sore breasts. She asked if I drank a lot of coffee and ate a lot of chocolates. I didn't drink much coffee but I love chocolates. Well, I cut down drastically on the chocolates and I have not had to deal with that problem again. Your other symptoms may be caused by anxiety. Try to relax and let nature take its course.
Best wishes.

This might be too late an answer, but stress is a huge factor with your hormones, your cycle, etc., and getting pregnant is a huge stresser:) Perhaps wait until around the 13th and take the test again.

Other than praying for patience (like I do daily:)), the best book I read was Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. I would recommend to anyone, anytime, esp when trying to conceive, as it tells you all the bare basics, like how your egg is only viable for one day!, how to track ovulation without kits, how to see when/how stress affects your own unique cycles.

Good luck and much light!

If you are pregnant and do not have health insurance then go to your local planned parenthood and see if they can do a pregnancy test. When pregnant with my son I did a test it came up negative then did one five days later and it came up positive. I would wait four weeks from last period then do a pregnancy test. I hope you are getting health insurance in the future as prenatal care is important. Good luck/
