Hello, I'd like to surprise my husband for his 30th b-day.
I want to take him skiing or other winter sports/activities for a wknd. get away and with our friends. His b-day is at the end of Dec. So this would be something different i've never gone skiing but he has a couple times & loves it.
Any suggestions on a great place, reasonable if possible. I would like to stay in a cabin for the whole skii feel but if not possible a hotel is fine. Please help need to reserve something soon:? or think of other ideas???
Thanks I appreciate it! :)

Hi S.,
I also recommend Galena. It's not that far and it's very pretty. I liked it better than Alpine and Wausau. We stayed at the hotel right on the premises. They have skii rental and everything. I think it's called Chestnut Mountain. It's a lot of fun and the runs are pretty good. Plus I think it's affordable. Have a great time.

We had fun years back in the Wisconsin Dells, nice skiing. Also Alpine Valley or Wausaw Wisc are decent. Really had a nice getaway at the dells though.

I, too, have heard Galena skiing is good.

Have fun!

Hi! i grew up snowboarding and have been to alot of places here in the midwest... if you dont mind a bit of a drive (few hours) i would reccomend going to Cascade, its in WI and thats really the only place that will most likely have the MOST snow AND give you that "ski feel" its probably the largest resort that is close, and its really woodsy... also there is one in Galena, ive never been to it but i know its not that big, i think they have cabins but i wouldnt garuntee (sp??) they will have snow like Cascade will. hope this helps! good luck and feel free to message me if you have any questions!!!
