I need some suggestions for thank you gifts for the girls throwing my shower in a few weeks, I can't come up with anything that hasn't been done time and time again. I'd blame it on pregnancy brain, but I'm bad at this kind of stuff normally. Any unique ideas for me, ladies?

What can I do next?

I usually give something consumable, and a gift to a charity, which is either dear to me, or somehow topically related.

in this case - a bottle of wine, a bag of coffee beans, a few bars of soap, a box of cookies, a carrot cake, a card and a thank you advising a small gift has been made to - the march of dimes, the smile fund, st jude's children's research hospital, unicef, heifer international etc.

if someone dog sits for me, I give a gift to the ASPCA.

if someone puts on a bbq, I might give a gift to the fresh air fund, to city harvest or something of that ilk.

if someone waters my garden while I am on vacation, I might get them a pot of herbs and a donation to the arbor day society, or farm aid, or 4H.

Best,

Depends on your budget. You could take each of them some flowers or take them all out to lunch.

Also remember to return the favor. They threw you a baby shower. Will any of them be getting married or have children in the future? Host showers for them. Baby sit if they the help.

Most of all be there when they need a friend.

Treat them to something you can all do together, like getting manis or massages. A little pampering all around.

I don't care how often it's been done, I ALWAYS appreciate a good massage! Lol. :)

Is there anything truly specific to each girl? Like one is a Starbucks and book junkie = Barnes and Noble gift card or special magazine or book you know shes been wanted to read. Another might have a favorite restaurant or shop that she adores, those are easy gift cards. Another might have a cheese cake obsession, order one for her.

Choosing something unique, even if it is a gift card, is special, it shows you care about them and know their favorite things.

Otherwise treat all of them to lunch at a restaurant you all love and/or a movie. Budget allowing. It will be special time together and a nice way to thank them.

Good luck, this stuff always seems tricky.

A nice bottle of wine paired with a small silver bracelet.

Or you could put together a small basket filled w/inexpensive things:
-cheap bottle of wine
-cute napkins
-coasters
-crackers
-small pkg of cheese
-beef jerkey
-small frame
Wrap in clear plastic (like the kind they use for Easter baskets).

Or take them out to a nice lunch
Or all go out for happy hour drinks & apps then get pedis.

I gave all my hostesses small crosses that they can hang on their rearview mirror if they want to or hang somewhere. They were like maybe 5 or 6 inches in length and had like an organza ribbon to hang it from. Maybe $7 each. It was just my way of saying thank you to all of them, but nothing too expensive. Although, I've now thrown 3 showers for my best girl friends (2 baby and 1 wedding) and they did nothing for me. I was shocked!!!

Another option is personalized stationary.

I completely agree with Holley A-try to be specific. My friend recently gave me a gift basket with a really nice throw blanket, a book, candle, tea, and a sticky hand (among other things). All things she knows I enjoy. The sticky hand was a joke. I once almost had us kicked out of a store when we were younger for slapping everything around with one of those things, lol. She never let's me live anything down.

I have thrown several showers and never recieved a hostess gift. Something that showed the person appreciated me would have been lovely (even a $5 iTunes card for some workout tunes).

Mani/pedi gift certificates or a foot massage. Something maybe you could all go do together. Or invite everyone to lunch and pick up the check. I think that is sweet.
