She Is So Skinny!! Where Do I Find Clothes for Her?

My daughter is almost 3 years old. She is kind of tall for her age compared to the kids in her daycare class, but she is so skinny. She needs a 3T in length and an 18 mo. in the waist. She has been like this for a while. I just wish I had her metabolism!! Its not suprising considering my husbands side of the family is tall and lean, but I can't find clothes that fit her really well. She either has pants with an elastic waste or she has to wear a belt. Dresses are great if they tie in the back but they aren't very practical for everyday. I know that different brands fit differently but where are the ones that are tiny??

What can I do next?

Go to target they have those pants that have the buttons on the inside with the adjustable waist. That is where I get my son's jeans at and he is tall and thin too.

Our daughter has the same problem, JCPenny and sometimes Target (I'm sure some other places too) have SLIM sizes with adjustable waists. Sometimes our daughter will still need a belt but they don't look quite so bunched and uncomfortable.

Hey K.,
I know this is a kind of late response to your question but, I have the same problem. My daughter is 4 years old wearing 18 months and 24 months and she is tall so I end up having to buy 3T or 4T for her length and pins work great. :) Well recently her grandmother discovered that Burlington's Coat Factory has pants that come in 2T, 3T, and 4T that fit her perfectly without a pin and they have been working great for her. It takes some time to find the right ones but, they have them. And remember Burlington's is a discount store.
Good luck!

My son has the same problem. Old Navy has jeans with adjustable waists and their kids clothes are really cute.

Try Gymboree....they have great pants that are similar to maternity pants. They have the elastic sides that you can pull in and button to make the pants more snug. My almost 3yo needs the 3T length but does not need it in her waist and I love their pants. Same for my 4yo...needs the size 4 length but not in the waist. They cost a little more but are worth their comfort and fit. FYI...I tried a lower cost jean from Target and they fell apart in about 3 washes....you get what you pay for sometimes. Just thought I would throw that in for thought.

We are in the same boat! My 2-year-old daughter is super tall and skinny - gets it from her daddy's side of the family. Anyway, after much searching, we are now using the Gymboree pants that adjust in the waist. She needs a 2T length but more like a 12-month waist so we have to adjust them quite a bit and they bunch up a little, but it's better than them falling off like they usually do! I've also seen these at Target but haven't tried them from there.
