I started using the same shampoo and conditioner I use on my hair and have noticed a great improvement. We use that at least once a week and if I use the Loreal kids' shampoo, we follow up with adult conditioner. It really makes a difference.
Good Luck!

Why not use the shampoo you use. I've heard baby shampoo is very drying to the hair.

The ABC Hair and Body Wash from Arbonne is gentle and contains aloe oat. If your son is a bit older, you might also try the Daily Self Adjusting Shampoo which is also very gentle and has sage, thyme extracts as well as vitamins A, C and E. My daughter used to use this one, but I actually had to switch her to a different product because her hair is too oily :)! So if your son's hair is dry, it might be just perfect. You can check out the products at www.arbonne.com and click on Shop Online. If you have any more questions after reading about the products there, just let me know. Blessings! C.

If you want kids shampoo, try the Suave with conditioner in it. It has really helped my daughter's hair out. Or once you wash their hair, put a little of your conditioner you use in their hair for 30 seconds while they play. Then rinse. That should help with the dryness and with static too. This time of year is bad with the weather being so dry.

kids shampoo is high in alkaline so it doesn't burn their eyes and that makes it more drying. You can just get a good conditioner to use after shampooing. Also, after towel drying, I use Nexxus Headress which is a leave in conditioner. Just a dime size dot works for my daughters long hair. It smells great too. Nexxus Humectress can also be used as a leave in but it's a little heavier and using too much will leave hair looking greasy so be sure to only use a small amount.

Hi, I would like to recommend a wholesale store where they sale nothing but, natural, organic products. The shampoo for kids are great! You will save money and the products are high quality and effective. Where do you reside?

I use suave for kids in the green bottle - melon something or other, and suave detangling spray (leave in conditioner) in the green bottle.

For girls - I'd probably throw in a conditioner, but my boys have inch long hair at the most.

Concoct your own 2 in 1. In a plasic container, pour 2/3 baby shampoo and 1/3 conditioner. Pantene has a good conditioner. Or you can shampoo and towel dry as usual, then add in a leave in conditioner into their hair when you brush.

I would just pick something that is formeldahyde free (aka querternium-15) which is found in many conventional brands such as Johnson & Johnson, Aveeno, Suave, etc.. Also look for paraben free and no sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates. California Baby is a great brand, not sure what age your child is or what other products they have for older kiddos. I now Jason makes great products as well and they do have a kids line. You can find them at any health food store, Sprouts, Central Market and even Wal-Mart has a few Jason products but I haven't seen the kids line there.

Hi L.:

I know this may sound a bit strange, but, I use Jason Organics For Kids Only on my 2 1/2 year old. He has very curly hair that has a great potential to be dry. It's about $8, but lasts us about 5 or 6 months. You can find it at Spouts or Central Market (not sure about Whole Foods as I haven't purchased it there).

I also use Natures Baby Organics Conditioner & Detangler. You can either leave it in (which I do) or rinse it out. I've tried other products, but, LOVE this stuff. It keeps his hair soft all day, without leaving any residue behind. It can be purchased at the above mentioned stores, as well as Market Street in their specialty items area. This costs about $8 as well, but really lasts.

Both are well worth the extra trip to these stores!

Good luck!

For our kids, we use "Kids Only" shampoo by Jason, along with "Super Shiny" conditioner by Burt's Bees, both from Whole Foods. The conditioner is fabulous, which may be all you need, and you can also get it at Walgreens. It makes all the difference in how soft and shiny the kids' hair is. I use it too!

L., I have recently been thinking about this myself. My reasons are for protecting their little bodies... we absorb so much through our scalp! I was going to check out the shampoo/conditioner by Melaleuca (melaleuca.com),they have all natural products and I am really interested in going in this direction. I actually talked to a rep awhile back about being a member/rep. - I really liked their product line!
add: I just checked their website and they have quite a few kids products including a conditioning shampoo!

We use Burt's Bees baby shampoo/wash on our boys. But since you mentioned that their hair is dry, I'm wondering how often you wash it. You could try washing it less often, so that you don't strip off the body's natural oils.

I have found a great shampoo and would love to share it with you. Depending on the age of your boys, there are several suggestions. Would you send me a direct message with the ages of your boys? Looking forward to hearing from you...
