Selective Vaccinations

Hi!
I was wondering if anyone out there has opted out of some vaccines and has chosen to "selectively" vaccinate their children? If so, have you found a doctor in the Sacramento area that has supported you in your decision? And which vaccines did you choose?

I would prefer NOT to argue about whether or not to vaccinate.
Thanks in advance.

Good morning Meagan,

Dr Terrance Chang in Roseville allows you to select which vaccinations or space them out as you feel comfortable.

Best wishes,

Hi,

I definetely believe in the selective vaccination schedule and used it with my 2.5 yr old boy. I have seen alot about autism/vaccinations and the president of autism speaks, who is a doctor and his son has autism, believes that there probably is a link to autism from 1. vaccinations with themeresol and 2. the combintations/amounts of vaccinations given to children at the same time. My doctor is Dr. Laura Emge and she is located at the Mercy medclinic on Q street. She rocks and is totally open to selective vaccinations.

Good luck!

Yes I am going to go w/an alternate schedule for vaccinations and hopefully not get any shots w/MMR. see this website: http://www.askdrsears.com/default.asp. I got it from the gal that also responded and I am thankful to her for turning me onto it.

Here is Dr. Sears’ website. Really good resource with updates to the Vaccine Book. Sign up for the newsletter. It is really informative.
REALLY good alternative vaccine schedule that I am using. It is from Dr. Sears who wrote an amazing book called The Vaccination Book. I highly suggest you read it. It’s not too late to switch up the vaccine schedule. I am super paranoid about a bunch of vaccines the kids don't need. I am told the book is unbiased and really, really informative. I have only looked at his schedule online. Go to his website then choose to use his “Selective Vaccination Schedule.” There are two modified vaccination schedules that he recommends. You can pick whichever of the two makes the most sense for you. I am totally skipping the MMR shots as well as a couple of others that are irrelevant for modern times. Anyway – get the book if you get a chance. I am told it is worth it

Hi Meagan,

I have been using the "Selective Vaccination" schedule from Dr. Sears. It is in The Vaccine Book. A great book for all parents to have regardless of their views on vaccines. If you would like a copy of the schedule, please let me know and I can scan it and email it to you offline. I have been using Dr. Terri Felix (female) who is with UC Davis Group on Madison near San Juan. She is fabulous and very open to changing the vaccination schedule to suit your preferences and lifestyle. She has been very supportive of my wishes. Good luck to you!

That is two votes for Dr. Terrance Chang. He is on Sierra College/Douglas Blvd. He and staff are fantastic. They know me and my children by name and it is so welcoming and friendly to be greeted that way. He is also an allergy/asthma specialist. They don't force their medical opinions and allow me the freedom choose what I want for my kids, giving me alternatives other than simply writing a prescription to treat them. ###-###-####. I would highly reccomend him. He came to the hospital when both my kids were born (he stopped by on his way to the airport leaving for vacation) just to check in on us. Love that! Also, I stopped my kids vaccinations before the MMR and I have had no issues with being forced to continue.

Good Luck!
