I need to purchase a new washer and dryer. Just looking for some advice of what everyone out there has and if they love it or hate it. We have no preference of front loader or top loader.
Thanks

HI N.,
I have the front loader and LOVE them! Not only do they use less water, gentle on your clothes and have child locks on them but they are super easy to use!

Good Luck

Hi, We just got the Bosch front loader. I love them, we got them a Sears too. I went with the Bosch because of the setting to santize which I use for towels and sheets...it will heat the water to the desired temp for killing bacteria. I find mind get more of the dirt out and I have not had to try as hard to get my two kids stains out either. One thing to think of is it does take a little longer on some setting them most washer and if you use the eco setting on the dryer something like jeans will not get completly dry..I just know now to use the reg setting for jeans. I would recomended getting the pedstal..sometime different time they offer them for free or reduced rates our we got ours for free! If you don't have the pedestal the washer might travel(move)or vibrate loudly during the spin cycles especially if your wash room is upstairs!
Hope the info helps.

I bought a front loader washer, and a new dryer at Sears. I got the Kenmore brand. I first went to Lowe's to get some good prices. Sears will match the price and give 10 percent off. So Yes, I took advantage of that. I chose a front loading washer, because there would be less aggitation on my clothes, thus the clothes last longer. As well, they use less water, so the water bill would be less. I also got the stacking dryer, so the set takes up less space. When shopping, I found that the top loading washers all have an agitator in them that beats up your fabrics and wears out the clothes, and the whole tank has to fill with water a few times in order to wash and rinse all the soap off. So I vote for the Kenmore frontloading washer and a dryer that matches, with the 10 percent off of the competetors price. Mine is 5 years old, and never needed any service, so you can skip the one year warrantee. My son is 2 years old, and he loves to help Mommy do laundry. His job is to take the wet clothes out of the washer and hand them to me, and I put them up in the dryer. This works well.

I have an LG front loader and love it! They are a little ore expensive but you save so much in water that you will make it up in a few years. Not to mention it is very gentle on your clothes. As an added bonus they have child locks on them. I would suggest getting the storage pedestal, it comes in very handy for all laundry stuff. My 19 month old loves helping me with the laundry because I let her push the buttons and then she stands in front of it saying "round and round". For some strange reason she loves watching the laundry spin around, LOL!

We have a pair of Samsung front loaders, we bought them from Sears about 2 months ago, they are very quiet, you would never even know they where running, they are very eco friendly, are water bill has gone down also, our last months bill was $15 cheaper,I was quite amazed.we do alot of wash in our family so I was definately looking for something to save us some money and to help the enviroment. Also they use less laundry detergent.I think Samsung are rated pretty high also, like number 2.Good luck on what ever you choose.

a front loader is a pain, if you find the missing sock you cant throw it in, it does not seem to get the clothes as clean or i dont think it rinses as well. my favorite appliance place to shop is sears and especially sears scratch and dent. i got a $1500.00 side by side fridge, water and ice maker in the door for a little over $500.00. it had a long scratch on the side and 2 dings in the door. so for $1000.00 i deal with the scratch and the dings it does not effect the working capability, i always get the extended warentees and if something goes wrong they come to your door and fix it, no charge. the only thing is its across the bay and either you transport it or pay to have it delivered, it cost me $60 but they delivered it and set it up, and set up my ice maker. i love my sears. gl J.

love my front loaders... when you pick the brand you want, google it and see what other people have said about it to see if there are problems with it a few months after it's bought... keep the washer door open a bit so it can dry out to prevent mildew.... check behind the rubber ring for missing socks

I just bought a Maytag 7 cubic ft. dryer from Home Depot. It is a front loader with an enormous lighted tumbler. It cost me about $300 and it is wonderful. so much room for the clothes to dry without wrinkling and so much space for them to dry quickly. It has quite a few settings, I am a senior with a fixed income and it was sure worth the price I love it!!!!!! C. C They connected it and took away he old one free too. I can
't believe I found this gem...

Hi N.,
I was in the same boat...Last month my dryer broke, so we bought a new Maytag, and really liked it a lot. Two weeks after we bought the dryer, our washing machine broke. We’d had both for over ten years, so I figured it was about time to replace them. I couldn't find a Maytag washer that had all the features I wanted and matched the dryer I'd just purchased, so I ended up getting a GE profile washer. Absolutely the WORST washing machine ever made!! Steer clear of GE profiles for washers and dryers. The people at Lowe's (where we purchased both) we extremely helpful. They took back both the washer that we did not like, as well as the dryer because I wanted to get a matching pair. We ended up buying a pair of Samsung – they are both front loaders and I absolutely LOVE them both! I’ve never had a front load washing machine before, but I love this one! I personally have never purchased any Samsung home appliances in the past, but did the research, and I am very happy with my purchase. Samsung has had the consumer's choice #1 rated washers & dryers for the past two years in a row. Right now, through the day before Thanksgiving, Lowe's has a matching Samsung washer/dryer set on sale for $898. That is both the washer and dryer for what you would usually pay for just one of them. What a deal!! The lady that helped us at Lowes told us about another pair of front loaders that will be on sale for Black Friday (I think they were Whirlpools), but I needed mine ASAP, and I am not a Day after Thanksgiving Sales shopper and bargain hunter. Anyways - I highly recommend the Samsung pair that is on Sale at Lowes right now. We do a lot of laundry in our house and they make it so much more pleasant to do laundry. I can't say enough good things about them...they rock!! Good luck with whatever you decide to purchase!

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Mamas out there!!

i have a roper washer/dryer top loader for the washer. they'er made by one of the better washer/dryer companies (can't remmeber which one). i have had them for almost 5yrs and haven't had any problems w/ them at all. the washer has several different wash cycles on it and the dryer has an energy saving feature on it that i use that works great. they were both under $300 also.
