Hello, I am having a hard time finding a suitable sitter for my 8 month old daughter. I had a live in nanny but she went off to college and my husband has been staying home with our daughter since but it is really hurting us financially. He needs to go back to work ASAP but we keep running into dead ins in finding a good person to care for her. We live in Wylie and I drive down George Bush to North Dallas Toll to work so anywhere between there would be convent. We refuse to put her in daycare or an in-home daycare because the adult to child ratio is not something we agree with as parents. We have not used a service because of the cost and I can't see it working for us. Our idea person would be a loving stay at home mother with no more than two of her own children to care for or a college person that would take evening classes. If anyone can give me some ideas of how to search this person out it would be greatly apprecitated!

Hello Vanessa,

I'm a stay-at-home mother of a one year old boy. I live in Wylie and would like to get into babysitting to earn extra income. Please email me at: ____@____.com if you want to set up a meeting. I put an ad on Craigslist and got a response from a woman who is also looking. I'm planning on meeting with her after I get back from out of town, but I really want to have a couple of options just in case she decides she does not want to use me. Anyways, please email me so we can set up a time to meet. My ad on craigslist will probably be hard to find, but it was posted sometime last week if your interested. It's titled "Babysitting Services" and you can find it in the Community section under Childcare at the Dallas Craigslist site. I hope to hear from you soon.

Dear Vanessa,

My name is H. and I am a stay at home mom. I have a 17 month old daughter and a 5 month old baby boy. I live right off of 190, so not sure if that is close to you or not. What kind of schedule are you looking at for your daughter? Just let me know.

Sincerely,
H.

A couple great websites to find who you're looking for are www.care.com and www.sittercity.com. You can look at resumes at no cost but if you want to have ability to contact the nanny, it's around $40 (as many applicants as you want). They do the background checks for you and you can narrow your search by location, qualifications, etc. We found a great college girl in Lavon to help us out and it was worth it! Good luck!

Check with your local church. Can your husband work nights? If your husband went back to work, could you afford to stay home and perhaps work part-time evenings/weekends?

Good luck.

Have you tried getting an aupaif? great solution. Final cost is about 300 dollars per month. Catch is that you have a high upfront cost.
