Seeking Reputable Preschool in East Northport Area Non Religious

My daughter just turned 3 this May and I am interested in sending her to preschool in September. Probably to start off with just a few days a week. However- she is not potty trained- REFUSES to do it- and I have tried everything. So I figure when she's ready she'll do it. So I need to find a pre-school that will take kids still in pull ups (in case by then she still is!) Must be reasonable cost wise and not a big school with a lot of kids- like tutor time. But references, safety, and good people I can trust a must. I am very nervous about the whole thing. She has never been in daycare, I work part time and I have a sitter who's fantastic. My husband and I are not religious so no churches please.

What can I do next?

Northport Nursery School (on Laurel Hill Rd.) is the best one in the area (I have interviewed 40 schools!). They have teachers that have been there for a long time. The kids don't need to be potty trained; they will even change their diaper if you want. They have a great playground (I'm a playground designer for the City and I've seen my share of playgrounds). They also have a gradual separation program that allows you to stay in the classroom during the month of Sept. And, it's a Co-operative, meaning you can be involved in the classroom and get to know the other children once a month. Good luck.

The tutor time in East Northport is really good. They are accredited, which makes them better than most. They have to follow a higher standard, and do not only have the state come in to check, but the accrediting agency also has to come in. I wasn't able to send my children there because the days per week didn't work with me (I needed Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), but they are very good. They are on Larkfield Road.

My 3-1/2 year old twin girls are not potty-trained either!! They go to Tender Years Preschool on Maplewood Road in Huntington (just off Park Ave) and they LOVE it!! They are currently in the 3 year old program and will move up to the 4 year old program in September...neither of which require potty-training. They will also help anyway they can to encourage the kids to go to the potty...mine just have no desire!!!
We are very happy with the school and what the girls are learning. They have 11 children in their class with 2 teachers. If you want more info, let me know...I'd be happy to help!!

I have herd really good things about the Huntington YMCA. They are not over expencive and I dont believe they have to be potty trained. (I may be wrong)

Hi, I live in Centerport, and after looking at many many preschools, we decided on Island Kids in Greenlawn for our 3 yr old. You should check it out!
