Hello moms, my husband and I and our 2 boys are looking for a home to rent, possibly land contract type of deal. We are currently home owners in Dearborn Heights, but live in inkster school district. so we need to be in a better more suitable school district fro my son. We are subletting our home to a relative. My question is, doesw anyone know of rental homes in the Livonia, Canton, Plymouth, Novi, Northville area. e are looking to keep our payment $1200.00 or under per month. Any advice or help with even how to get started on the rental path would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try Realtor.com or if you know anyone that is a realestate agent, they are very helpful. With the housing market the way it is, I know of more than one realtor that is doing primarily rentals. I know of one person in particular that would be more than happy to help you. Send me a message if you would like her name.

Hello L.,
I live in the Northville area and wanted to find out a little more infomation about what you are looking for. What requirements are you seeking in a home? In fact, we are currently looking to purchase a new home and would like to either sell or rent our current home. If you are interested in a condo, please let me know.

Thank you,
T.

Hi L.,
Crossings at Canton have townhouses and apartments around $1050 a month. They are nice. The number is ###-###-####.
Mention Nancy Layton referred you. Thanks. They have an indoor pool and rec center open year round. Nicely kept area, Plymouth/Canton schools. It is located on Joy, by Haggerty.
God Bless.

Hi, L.. I live in Northville and there are at least three homes with "For Rent" signs in my neighborhood, one that states "Rent to Own". I don't have any ideas about monthly payments, but I'd be happy to get some numbers off the signs for you and send them to you in a private message if you wish. Maybe send me a message back if you're interested?

The above link was very helpful to me and my family in our search, Most homes are listed as rental but the are willing to rent to sale, you have to check with each individual real estate rep to find out the status on the home being rented.

We live on Boulden ct in Canton, close to good schools, their are only 15 houses on our block, 4 are for sale, some unfortinately have been taken back by the bank. Their are no signs for bank take over, mabie try to get a list of foreclosed homes, best of luck to you, and your family. B., now in my 40's born in Canton, have seen many changes, but it has always been a good town.mother of 4 grandmother of 3.

Contact the City Halls in the areas you are looking to rent. I live in Redford and if you own a rental property, you have to have the property inspected by the City prior to renting. Therefore, the City has a listing of all the rental properties. You could also check the local supermarket, as many have boards where people can post things for sale. You could also attend a PTA meeting at the school you would like your child to attend to see if anyone knows of any homes in that particular area that are for rent.
Whatever you do, ask to talk to current and previous renters of your landlords. My friend is in a situation where she was renting, paying on time (or before the 1st), but her landlord wasn't paying the mortgage and she now has to find another place to live because the home was renting was foreclosed on.
Good Luck.
