Seeking Recommendation for an Infectious Disease Specialist

Does anyone have a recommendation for an Infectious Disease doctor in the San Jose or surrounding area? I'm looking for a doctor who has experience with Lyme’s Disease.

What can I do next?

Dr. John Boggs at Palo Alto Medical. Also, you missed it, but there was a lyme disease awareness night recently in Portola Valley. There is some sort of association/support group. If you can't find it by internet search, I might be able to track it down for you.

Hi Ann Marie,

One of my good girlfriends has Lyme's Disease. She found out just recently but went through several years of thinking she was Schizophrenic. The Lyme's Disease attacked her brain and becuase she contracted it from a Tic when she was only 9 she has given it to her husband and 4 year old son when she was pregnant. It was several years of thinking something was horribly wrong with her but this Doctor Janine Talty is helping the family, she is aggressive but really good. I am sorry if you have this as bad as my girlfriend. She is actually just so happy they found out what was wrong with her and can potentially have another child once the Lyme's is killed of with heavy antibiotics. I hope this helps!!! Good Luck. :)

Hi A.. I agree - Dr.Robert Armstrong in Los Gatos is the best expert in our area.
I've been treated by him before and he's very good.

I was treated quite a number of years for a pseudomonous infection ago by Dr. Robert Armstrong in Los Gatos. I would think he would know how to handle Lyme Disease, but a quick call to his office would get you that information.
His #: ###-###-####. His office is on Dardinelli Lane around the corner from LG Community Hospital.
As I recall, he was a very pleasant and thorough doctor. Dr. Armstrong was called in on my case because the infection occurred as a result of surgery, so he wasn't my regular treating physician, though I saw him several times during my treatment.
Good luck!
