Seeking Private or Charter School Referral in Gilbert Area

I have been searching for a couple years for the "right" school and can't decide where to send my boys. My oldest is 4 so I am new to this and want to make the best choices I can for my kids. I am looking for a private or charter school in Gilbert that offers the following:
Excelled teaching
Teaches moral and values
Fosters a loving and caring environment
Has high standards
Enforces rules

Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

Hi HC, I don't have any suggestions, but would not recommend Destiny Community. I would suggest however that when you do find one, have a really good relationship with the teacher, that goes a long way! Good luck!

I think you need to research the schools in your area, schedule some tours, talk to other parents etc. I did my masters thesis on AZ public schools focusing on charter and district schools... and I put my son on the waiting list for a charter school when he was one.

I have heard wonderful things about EduPrize in both Gilbert and Queen Creek, however, it is difficult to get in. If you are interested in this school, I would advise taking a tour NOW and putting BOTH of your children on the waiting list. They foster creativity, have high testing scores and put an emphasis on the arts. I have two friends whose kids go there and they love it! I also know one of the teachers, as well. If we lived closer, I would take my children there. I found a comparable public school in Mesa, so that is where my children go.

My son also attended Leading Edge Academy for 1/2 year. We loved everything about it, the teacher's, the low ratios, the music and art program, however we did not like their curriculum. Everyone is different, so I would encourage you to look at this school as well. They are a back to basics school, so they focus a lot on reading, writing, and math, but most of it is done through worksheets. This was not the ideal situation for my son. I hope this gives you a start, it took me two years to find the right school for my son and I am hoping that this school year is just as good!

Edu-Prize and Challenger have rave reviews. We were set on Edu-Prize but I found out today SRP is building a electronic substation next door to their property. The parents are protesting (as they should be) but it is SRP and I have a feeling they are still going to build it. Bummer for soo many families. :(

FYI, These are my fav schools so far:
Edu-Prize (if SRP does not build)
Bright Beginnings (Charter-Chandler)
Polytechnic Elementary School (Charter-Mesa)
Montessori Education Centre (Charter-Mesa)
Challenger (Charter-Gilbert)

Hope this helps and good luck!

Challenger Basic School is probably one of the best schools. Unfortunately they have a long waiting list, so you need to get your children's names in early. Their AIMS scores far exceed the states average with passing sections around 95%-100%. The average is around 70%-80%.

I wish I could have enrolled my son, but I didn't enroll him early enough. He just started Kindergarten and I decided to send him to Liberty Academy.
