In the last week, we have toured 5 area preschools located in johnson county, kansas. They are: Building Blocks, Lenexa, KS, The Goddard School, West Shawnee, KS, Canterbury Prep School, West Shawnee, KS, and St. Joseph Early Education Center, Shawnee, KS. The last one, La Petite we have already decided against. But does anyone know anything about the 4 others and could make any recommendations? It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you to everyone for referring all of the wonderful preschools last year. It was greatly appreciated and I want to apologize for not posting this sooner. Our son Brandon has been attending St. Paul's in Lenexa, Kansas and we all love it! I will definitely recommend the school to anyone who asks.

Sincerely,

- Y.

The Goddard School is wonderful from what I hear. Four of my old co-workers actually left to go work there and they love it. They are wonderful teachers (when you work in that business, you know who you would want your child to be with), I would trust any of those teachers that went to work there with my children. Usually if the school treats the teachers right, the teachers are happy and more motivated. I know if I need to ever go back to work, I would work there and wouldn't hesitate to send my kiddos there..and I'm pretty protective of them :)

Hi Y.,

My doughter started this year at St Paul in Lenexa almost Shawnee, I love it! She is so happy that she wants to go every day.
It is located in Lackmann between 79 and 71st street.
You can tour one more if you like! :)

You'll do good, most schools in the area are good. Some better. But haven't heard of bad ones. Good luck!

My daughters go to Sunshine Preschool on Shawnee Mission Parkway and Long. It is a fabulous preschool; very advanced. If you want to check it out, the directors name is Sandy Waltersheid, and the number is ###-###-####.

Blue Valley Montessori was our preschool for both our children. You can ask for Dena Rutter and tell her S. Lawson sent you. Ask for Mrs. Prior, she is the absolute best teacher I have ever encountered.

Hi!
My best friend has her two little girls at St Joe's and loves it. The girls are learning so much and the staff is amazing.

Hi. The Goddard School is a client of mine (there are 4 in the area, two are clients). The Goddard School is a franchise and they are strictly enforced. I highly recommend Shawnee and Overland Park/South Metcalf.

Have you tried public schools? My son is a peer model in the public schools pre-school program. We love it.

My daughter went to LUMC (Lenexa United Methodist Church) for preschool and pre-k. She loved it there. I really liked the teachers and the program they had. Plus they are NAEYC accredited. It is off of 91st and Pflumn.
