I live in the Honey Brook/Coatesville Area. I am searching for a pediatrician who will respect my wishes to follow a delayed and selective vaccine schedule. My son is currently a patient at Kids First and they are not very supportive or understanding of my well researched decision. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

Hi D.,
I too am looking for a ped who will respect my wihses in terms of the vaccination schedule and which ones my fiance and I think are necessary.
Have you had any luck finding one?
I am also fairly new to the area - I live in Exton.
I am also looking for a ped who will split up the vaccinations - ex: giving the MMR vaccine in three seperate shots.
Any advice?
Thanks!!

My daughter also goes to Kids First, so I have no advice. Just wanted to wish you good luck in finding a doctor that will support your needs. :)

My ped is in Quakertown. Cevallos and Moise right on the 309. ###-###-####

I am doing the selective vaccinations and they are very understanding about it. As long as you seem well informed and don't just claim autism as your only worry, they are fine with it. You do have to remind them every visit thought that you do not want shots as they automatically prepare them when you go for your child. I had that problem once, but now I just make sure to tell them, no shots!

I am not sure where to get the MMR shots separate but I will keep reading this thread to see if you find one!

I'm still looking for somewhere to get the Tetanus shot alone--so far I was told I would have to go to an ER for it because my ped doesn't carry it.

If anyone else finds a good place, I'm open to hear about it!

Good luck!

Hello D.,

I also live in Honey Brook kind of on the Coatsville border. Last summer I switched our kids doctors to The Reading Pediatrics , located across from Walmart in Morgantown. I have had good experiences with all of their doctors. My kids are comfortable going there, which really helps when they are sick. I cannot answer your question directly, however I can give you their number and you could call them and talk to them about the selective vaccine schedule. They do have several offices, mostly in reading/wyomissing area. Hope this is of some help to you . Let me know if you would like the number.
