Hello all, I am looking for a great pecan pie recipe. I looked on the internet but I thought there may be some great bakers on mamasource, so if anyone has a great recipe they'd like to share I'd love to give it a try.

What can I do next?

I am new here but I saw your post and I had to let you know that the pecan pie recipe on the back of the Karo syrup bottle is really excellent and really easy. It's the one we always eat. Hope you enjoy!

My mom and grandmother have also used the one on the back of the Karo Dark Corn Syrup bottle for years and years. I don't care for pecan pie, but it's always been a fav in our family and no other recipe will substitute with them. :)

I have just created the most incredible pecan pie I have ever had. The real key is the crust which is truly time consuming. My family raved about it and to be honest , none of them even like pecan pie. I promise you it will be a hit. A word of warning, make more than one at a time or there will be none left except the question...." Is there anymore." Here goes Butter Pecan pie crust 1 cup flour 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1/8 tsp salt 6 tblsp butter 1/2 c finely chopped pecans 3 tblsp ice water Mix flour, sugar & salt well with pastry cutter. Cut butter into mixture until clumpy. Stir in pecans, Sprinkle top with ice water and stir until moist. It will be very gooey and sticky. Roll into a ball and wrap with plastic. Place in freezer for 20 minutes..
Lay out wax paper and sprinkle with flour, place dough ball on flour and lightly sprinkle top with flour. Roll out to 1/8 inch thick. Lay pie pan upsidedown on dough and pull wax paper edges so as to secure crust as you invert it into pan. Turn pan right side up, the crust will now be in the pan. Form to edge of pan and place in freezer for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 425*. After 15 minutes remove crust from freezer and poke holes in the bottom. Bake for 15 min. Let cool.Fill and bake. Pecan Pie Filling 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup karo syrup 1 cup pecan halves 1 cup finley chopped pecans 1/2 cup melted butter 3 eggs beaten mix all ingredients together well and pour into prepared pie crust. Bake at 375* for 30-45 min or until center is firm when slightly wiggled. Let cool and enjoy. Please let me know how you and your family like my creation.

S., This is a delicious pie. Enjoy! Mix Together: 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans, 4 eggs beaten, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup dark karo syrap, 1/2 cup light karo syrap,1 tsp. vanilla. Pour into ( I use Pillsbury pie crusts in a roll. there's two to a box. It makes it easier.) pie crust. top with whole pecans. Bake in 350 oven for 55 minutes. DELICIOUS! Karen from Orange

I use the recipe on the back of the karo syrup jar. I've served it for years as well as my Mom - and it's wonderful. I get tons of great responses from it. I'm not a fan of whole pecans - so I actually chop up the pecans first in a mini chopper. It's sounding yummy already!
