Easy Christmas Desserts

I have never been much of a cook (although I am the queen of ordering it!)- and special hoiday desserts have always been done by my Grandma. This is the first year we don't have her with us, so I am hoping to be able to fix something that everyone will enjoy, but that is simple enough that a total novice in the kitchen can do. Can anyone help?

What can I do next?

Coconut Butter Pecan Bundt Cake

Butter Pecan Cake mix
Coconut Pecan Frosting

Prepare the cake mix just as it tells you to on the box then mix in the coconut pecan frosting. Bake in a bundt pan according to the directions on the box. There is no need for icing. This is very moist and delicious! I am going to bake up some of these in the little loaf pans and give them as Christmas gifts.

Here's a crisp, sweet treat my ex's aunt makes sometimes. The one thing I miss most about his family is the cooks!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sweet and Salty Chocolate Crisps
24 saltine crackers
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 (12 oz) package chocolate morsels (milk chocolate is lovely)
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 325 F
Place crackers on foil-lined cookie sheet
Microwave butter & brown sugar in microwave-safe mixing bowl until butter melts, stirring occasionally. Use a wire whisk to mix melted ingredients. Mixture will become thick as you mix it. Pour over crackers.
Bake 10 minutes or until bubbly (home-made caramel!). Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate morsels, spreading as they melt. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
Cover and chill at least 2 hours. Lift foil up from pan & cut bites into 1-inch squares or break into pieces. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
Hey B.!
This is a very quick and easy dessert...for ANYTIME!
It's called Kool-aide pie and EVERYONE LOVES it!! Plus--it's cheap and you look like Betty Crocker! LOL!
You'll need:
2 pkgs. of your desired flav. of cool-aid (we like the berry kinds--but the choice is yours
2 ready-made graham cracker pie crusts
2 reg. size cream cheese (8oz--I think)
Sugar-- to desired taste--just to take the sourness out of the cool-aide.
Mix the cool-aide, the cream cheese (@ room temp) together...add in a little sugar and begin adding in a little water and stiring so that the mixture is not so thick. Take a taste to see if you need to add more sugar--the cool-aide is concentrated so you will need to add the sugar...keep adding in a little water until the mixture is pourable...and has NO lumps! You may want to use a mixer...
Pour half of mixture into one pre-made graham cracker pie crust and the other half into the other pie crust. Cover and Place into the freezer or frig. for 15-30 min. or until set.
I promise you, family will be begging you to make this ALL the time!!! Also makes a great gift for those that are shut-ins or who are sick---
Good luck and experiment when you get confident...mix two or three complimentary flavors together for a wow-zer pie--let your kids come up with a neat name for it...---be creative!! let me know if you tried this and what the response was---this is definately on my list of desserts this Christmas!!
B. i have a good one for you and its not fatting either.
you need an oreo pie crust, cream cheese, whip cream, chocolate pudding mix (not the pie mix either) milk.
put your pudding mix in a bowel
add 1 cup of milk to a 4 oz box (not what it says on the box)
add a cup of whip cream, blend it together. its going to be a light brown than.
in another bowel
add a cup of whip cream and a half a stick of cream cheese.
bleading it together. its going to get thick so dont worry.
now take your pie crust and add some pudding over the crust, spreading it all around. (save some pudding)
than add a layer of your cream cheese and whip cream to it. spreading it around.
than add more pudding, and more cream. when you are done you should have a 2 layer pie. on top of pie you can add some oreo's (cumbled) on top. that is a really good pie and i make 4 every year. let me know how it turns out. try one before christmas.
The absolute easiest, you can even have your son make this one!
Chocolate Pie-
1 lg pkg Jello Instant Chocolate pudding
milk
1 graham cracker pie shell
Mix pudding and milk according to "pie filling" directions on the box of Jello. Pour into the pie shell and refrigerate until set (like 10 minutes). DONE!
You can add
cool whip
mini chocolate chips or shaved chocolate looks pretty
crushed peppermint pieces
chocolate or colored candy sprinkles
this list can go on forever.
I always make one (or two) of these pies because it is just so easy and yummy!
~Take care~
I just learned how to make this and when it was all gone my dad was licking the pan. I promise!
Butterfinger Cake
1 pkg. of Devils Food Cake Mix
1 can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 bag of Butterfingers (you'll only use about 1/4 to a 1/2 of these)
1 jar of Caramel topping (the kind you put on your ice cream)
1 pkg. of cool whip
Make cake according to box. When done mix the sweetened condensed milk and the jar of caramel in a bowl. Polk holes using a toothpick all over the cake. Pour the mixture over the cake - this will eventually seep through the wholes. Put in refrigerator to cool. Add the whole package of cool whip - dont worry about getting it to look pretty, just try to spread out evenly. And make sure it has been thawed out. Then you take your butterfingers and crush them into tiny little pieces and open up and pour. I use a rolling pin for this but you can use your fist and pound just as well.
This is a great dessert. Enjoy!
