I'm not too familiar with that area, but some great forums to check with are: joining the Papaya Patch yahoo group, and families for natural living. The moms involved are very knowledgable and they are both great communities to be part of if you're looking for similar minded parents out there.

Also, I see someone else wasn't supporting your decision. We too, did not immunize our now - very healthy almost 3 year old, nor will we immunize our newborn due in May.
Just be educated and stand by your convictions. We went through 2 pediatricians before finding one that supported us and treated us like "smart" educated parents.
Perhaps look into finding a D.O. (doctor of osteopathic medicine) - same as a M.D., but trained in a holistic foundation of looking at the whole person.

Good Luck.

Hi Heidi-
Torrington Winsted Pediatrics, with offices in Torrington, Winsted, and Canton, are very open minded and very helpful. They also accept most insurance. I think they are a great practice. They will probably try to educate you about vaccines, but they are committed to doing only what the parents are comfortable with.

I did choose to vaccinate my kids, but I'm not against your decision. My kids weren't on the "regular" vaccine schedule and they didn't receive prevnar which is like 4 shots in one. Anyway, look into a D.A.N (Defeat Autism Now) Doctor. They may be more open to what your looking for. Also, you are aware that the state of CT only allows 2 exemption excuses. Either medical or religious, so if your just moving here you need to have that put in by your doc. Other states have a 3rd option but CT only allows those 2, otherwise you are required to give your kids the shots. Just something to think about.
