Seeking Moms' Groups in Snohomish, WA Area!

I'm a stay-at-home mom who needs friends! Especially ones that have kids. My friends don't have kids, so they don't understand how hectic my life is. Does anyone know of any mommy groups? Especially groups that have younger mommys. I am 21 years old and would love to get to know some other mommys around my age group.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

I started a group called "South Snohomish Mommy And Me Playgroup" on Facebook.com. I would love it if people would join!

I am in the same boat with you! Except I'm not a stay at home Mom. I work in a very small office with my MOM! I need to broaden my horizons on the meet and greet people scale! I'm 24 and married with a 2 1/2 year old boy and find it hard to meet people! How do you say, "Hi will you be my friend?" without sounding the least bit desperate?! LOL Anyways I think this is a tough thing that we all go though especially when your young with a family. Maybe we should just form our own group?

Try looking for groups of young moms in your area at http://www.meetup.com/. You can look up groups by your zip code and sort by interest - there is Parenting and Family interest section. Some have a small membership fee for supporting group activities and others are free.

I would love to get together! I too am a SAHM with a little angel named Annabelle...who is going to be 1 on Saturday, Sept. 5th. I live in Mill Creek, which isn't that far from Snohomish..depending on what part of Snohomish you're in. Please let me know if you'd like to get together for coffee or something!

There are several moms playgroups in Snohomish on meetup.com. You can also check out yahoo.com --> groups. I did a search and also found this one: http://www.mothersofsouthsnohomish.org/. Meetup.com has the most options for you though, so I definitely suggest checking them out. Most groups are free.

Having a support group of other moms around is so important, especially in the first year of your first child's life. That was the hardest part for me (with the life change) and when I needed other moms the most. Other moms are also the best resources for everything!

For activities, you may want to check out a book called "The Seattle Mama's Handbook", which has TONS of stuff to do with kids and as families in Seattle and the surrounding areas.

If you're in south snohomish county, you might want to check out Woodinville Family Preschool (www.woodinvillefamilypreschool.org). The "preschool" part is misleading, as it's more of a parent education program for the first couple of years (that provides your child a great play environment), that turns into a preschool as your child gets older. (You and your child attend together.) It's a GREAT community of parents, and the parent educators and teachers are so wonderful and amazing to help you through the beginning stages of motherhood.

I wish you the best of luck! :o)

I know there's an active Mothers and More in the Mill Creek area. They go to playgrounds all the time, and three playgroups a week, and even have Mother's Night Out, where just the moms meet up at a coffee shop once a month. Very active. I was involved several years ago, when my kids were very little. Check out the Mothers and More website, and give them your info, and someone from the group will call you!
