Beware of the companies that want you go purchase their phone plan or system so that you can make phone calls from home. I did a phone interview with a "wellness" company where they want you to pay $35 for their phone system. It's all a big scam. They want you to call to generate leads and what you are selling is supplemental insurance. I think that there is legit suplemental insurance but I really do think that a trustworthy company wouldn't have a "virtual" call center, meaning most of their employees work from home. I think most of what you come across for work from home will be a scam or will a multi-level marketing company, like Avon or Pampered Chef. I tried Avon, but found that there are so many reps in my area already and I ended up spending way more than I was making. Some of my friends who work from home were lucky enough to work for companies for a few years and when they had children, their employers were awsome enough to work out a telecommute deal with them. Good luck to you, hope I don't seem to sceptical - but I've been researching this for a few years now. I want to start babysitting from home, myself. A nice extra little income and playmates for my kids and then my whole focus can be on my children and I won't have to divide my time for caring for my kids and working from home.

Similar to companies like Tastefully Simple and Discover Toys, I sell for Baby Splendor. I'm one of 2 consultants in the Chicago area so the market is wide open here. The products are adorable -- I use most of with my son. There is a small fee to start up as well but it is completely legitimate.
