Seeking Infant Activities

set up your own. when my daughter was that age, we went to a park and talked to neighbors. I found two and we decided to set a play group time that would rotate houses. We each invited a few friends and set the time weekly so we could all plan around it. We had 6-8 very involved families with a kids in a 6 month to year age span apart. Now, nine years later, they are still of my best friends. We used to jokingly, but seriously call it mommy group b/c we needed the connection and outing as much as the kids did. The other thing that is cheap is library activities. If Norton doesn't have a program, call around to your neighboring towns. Here in providence we have a program called cradle to crayons and it's great and free or almost free.

Have you ever thought of trying out Old Colony Music Together? We did that with our daughter and she loved it. If you google it, they have a website. They offer classes in several areas and they are great! It is usually a set amount of time though - like a 9 -10 week course or something once a week, but it's reasonable (slightly higher than you wanted to pay, it might break down to be more like $10 or slightly less per class total) and lots of fun and bonding time for you and your daughter. We tried the Bridgewater one, but I know there are others that might be closer to you.

Check out the nearby libraries. Usually they've got a couple baby programs, you can have a weekly play/music/book time while getting out some stuff for yourself. . . worked out well for me and mine.

I too live in Norton and I belong to the Mom's Club. I also did not want to be so involved with a club but I really have enoyed this club. Once you join ($25/yr) they send you a calendar every month with activities (a lot of them free - some with cost) and you can go if you want to. There is also a playgroup coordinator who will set you up with a playgroup if you want with kids your ages. An example of some activities are playgrounds (when it is nice), playtime at the Trinitarian Church (in the basement they have a playroom), Coffee Breaks where you can come to someone's house socialize and let your baby play with others, we have gone apple, blueberry, strawberry, picking, we are also going to a farm for pumpkin picking with a hay ride. There are a lot more but that is just a glimpse. I do not go to everything by any means but at least it gives me options (especially during the colder months). Hope that helps,
