I'm turning 30 this month and want to celebrate with a few girlfriends. Does anyone have any fun ideas? I want to do more than just go out for dinner. I was thinking of an overnight trip somewhere fun but don't know where to go. I wouldn't want to go any further than an hour or 2 from the cities. Any ideas would be great...

What can I do next?

Well, I know this is a bit late for your b-day, but there's a production of "The Full Monty" at the Bloomington Civic Theatre coming up in October that would be great for a girls night out! Check out their website, www.bloomingtoncivictheatre.org for more info. They also have a dinner and a show deal with Kincaid's restaurant, which is a really nice place. Oh, I should mention I'm in the show...

A friend of mine for his 30th of B-day got a bunch of us together to go skydiving. It was an amazing unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something unique and memorable!! The place was in Wisconsin but I don't remember the name. I'm sure you could search the web and find one though.

Happy Birthday!! P.

I think right now is a perfect time to get up north somewhere- check out the explore Minnesota website and look for cabins to rent for a night. I believe (don't quote me) that this is when the fees start to go down, so it should be pretty inexpensive- especially if there are a few of you going!!

I just got back from Duluth and I loved it. I went there with my girlfriend and her two kids, stayed in the Suites at Waterfront Plaza. This is my first time to visit so maybe the place is not new to you, but Canal Park has great jogging courses along the lake and there're lots of things to do - getting on a ship for dinner and sightseeing etc. I will totally make it there again. The three bedroom suites in the hotel was awsome. Hawthorn Suites is also a great hotel to stay with friends.
