Seeking Great Birthday Cake!

I'm looking for a delicious birthday cake for my daughter's birthday next month. We moved to Fort Worth six months ago, so I don't know where to get a great birthday cake at a reasonable price. I don't care for grocery store cakes. I prefer that "wedding cake" taste. We live in Fort Worth near Haslet, Saginaw, Keller. So any other surrounding areas would be okay, too. Thanks for any help.

What can I do next?

Try http://thesweetoccasions.com/. I found Cathy from a friend, and she was great. She created a wonderful and delicious custom Supergirl cake for my daughter. Since she also does not have a storefront, she is very reasonable, unlike some of the others mentioned.

Hi M.! My name is J. and i live in northeast fortworth. After being burned several times by the grocery store bakeries i decided-last oct for my daughter's bday-that it was time for a change. Try this bakery in keller and you will not be disappointed! Sweet Memories off of 377 and 1709. They mostly do wedding cakes but they offer FABULOUS bday cakes as well! I wish i had the number for you but i'm not at home right now. Hope this helps!

Bluebonnet Bakery on Camp Bowie has great cakes!!!

Hi M.,

The Swiss Pastry Shop in Fort Worth is excellent.
They are off Vickery...I don't have their number with me.
Good luck.

Sweey Memories in keller is the best. I get one every year for both of my kids b-day party. They are excellent.

Hi M.,
I am in Fort Worth. I bake and decorate cakes. I am trying to build a portfolio to one day actually decorate cakes for a living. I have done several, and really LOVE doing it. I have made a Winnie-the-Pooh cake for my daughter's 1st birthday, a Batman cake for my son, many "Barbie doll" cakes, and 2 wedding cakes. I also do cheesecakes. I always get rave reviews about the moistness and taste of my cakes. Let me know what you are looking for and I would be more than happy to discuss price (mainly for supplies needed, if any). Like I said I am wanting to build a portfolio to one day decorate cakes for a living. Here is a link to an album of some of the cakes I have made in the past (I am continuously getting new supplies and learning new techniques)

Thanks so much,

It is probably too far from you to be practical, but the best cake I have ever put in my mouth is the Red Velvet cake from the Red Oven Bakery on Bowen Road in Arlington. Maybe someday you can make a point to try it.

Go with the last advice, but I know of two. The one I've used for my parent's 60th anniversary was big bucks, but out-of-this-world good. It is a French bakery across from North Hills Mall. There is another new one on Grapevine Hwy. up across from Market Street Grocery and the new I-Max. It looks tempting, but I cannot recommend it personally as I have yet to try it. I am very fond of the cakes at Market Street. Some are spectacular and VERY reasonable.
Good luck with that!
