Seeking Good Eye Doctor for Six Year Old in Flower Mound Area

Just had our six year well visit and it was confirmed--my daughter should see an eye doctor. Would like to find a doctor who's great with kids and who is nearby, if possible, but willing to drive for a good one. Would also love recommendations on where to buy glasses. I've heard some places have good plans that allow you to change out the lenses regularly as needed for a reduced fee. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you to all of you who were kind enough to take a few moments to respond to my request for an eye doctor for my young daughter. Mom's are so great! I am forever amazed how women will take the time to help a perfect stranger--God just gave us such nurturing souls. Your responses were very helpful. Your recommendations carry lots of weight because I know you too want only the best for your kids. The Bowens are definitely a favorite in the area. Thanks again to all of you!!

Another vote for Bowen!! Took my 5 year old there for the first time this week and Dr Lisa was so great with her. Office staff seems super nice too. I made an appointment for myself and will be taking my son in a couple of months.

This place has the best service and turn around time same or next day! Very kid friendly plus right now student eyewear is buy one get one free!Plus they are open on Sat 10:30 - 2! This is the ad I found:
Eyewear Direct in The Colony is having a buy one get one free sale on all kids ' glasses. Includes perscription lenses & frames! Just bring in your child and their latest eyeglass prescription (if no change the RX can calculated by looking at the latest lens) and let them choose their frame and lenses. The next pair of equal or lesser value free!
They have a large selections of cool children's eyewear, even if they do not need a prescription we need to get them some type of sun protection for their eyes. All of perscriptions are filled in house, which keeps price down and service up. Christopher Anderson, member of the American Board of Opticianary , will produce each pair of specs & guarantee perfect vision.

This offer is good from August 1st through September 3rd.

Have to add another vote for Bowen. They are the greatest! Both docs are so nice and the staff is very nice also. Our whole family goes there!

My son and I both go to Ousley Eye Associates in Highland Village. Dr. Bruce and Dr. Camille Ousley are a husband and wife team, and their office staff is fabulous too. They were great with my son. As far as buying glasses, we took his prescription to Target.

Yep, Bowen Eye Care... both of them (husband/wife team) are great, but I'd try for the wife, Lisa, for younger kids she just seems to have a better rapport with them.
