Seeking Excellent Surgeon and Facts About Breast Implants in Albany Ny Area

M., one gets so annoyed sometimes when people make judgements about you wanting a way to feel better about yourself. I'm in the same boat and though I love the rest of my body, I feel obsessed about breasts because I feel I need a bit more. I understand exactly what you mean when you are being intimate and you know men love breasts... I feel self conscious all the time. I don't have any answers for you but I hope responses to your search helps me as well.

I think it's great you are thinking about doing this. i just want to caution you about not over doing it. one of my girl friends here in manhattan got her's done. she had an A but they fit her body.... anyway, when at the doctor she got carried away and ended up with C+ cup... (almost a full D) instead of the B+ she planned on. she looks ridiculous now. .. like she might fall over. (of course, i would never tell her that... they're still new so i'm sure she might come to that realization on her own with time)

I don't know a plastic surgeon in your area. I used Malik Kutty in Westchester for my breast reconstruction when I had my mastectomy and he did an AMAZING job! I know it may be too far for you to travel, but he might know of someone excellent who he could recommend in your area. He is affiliated with Northern Westchester Hospital and Putnam Hospital Center. I don't have any specific experience to share about implants since I had a tram flap but your surgeon can tell you the specific risks, complications, etc when you go for a consultation.

Best thing I EVER did!! I live in NJ so my surgeon wouldn't be ideal for you but make sure whomever you go to is board certified and has been performing surgeries for a while. My Dr was Beverly Friedlander and she does have a website that has a ton of information. You can google her and find her as I don't know the website off the top of my head.

My personal experience was very good. It is painful but two things I leaned were definitely go under the mussel and I know this sounds terrible (and I didn't opt to do this and wish I did) but to go through the nipple versus underneath the breast (much less pain and quicker healing time). Keep in mind that they need to be re-done about every ten years. Make sure you will always have the money. There's nothing worse than needing them done again and being broke.

My friend had one of her implants leak. 20 years later she is still excreting silicone shards through her skin and eyes. She has hundreds of tiny scars all over her body from this. That's the best part. The worst is that the 30+ chemicals she has stored in her body now from the leaked implant have made her fat and unable to lose weight and she is in chronic pain and on disability. She had to have her eyelids redone as they were all puffed up with silicone from the leak.

In my opinion, I would see a therapist who does EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). You can within one session alter your attitude towards your body and love your breasts the way they are. I seriously doubt your husband cares about this. If he did he wouldn't want to touch you at all and likely he wouldn't have married you. Since this issue is in your head, it's best to get it out and save yourself what could turn out to be a disaster.

Probably there's less than 10% of the population that are actually happy with their breasts and when you have bigger ones and they sag, they are very uncomfortable and not too attractive either. It's time we as women start to love ourselves and our bodies the way nature intended. There are huge differences in body shapes. I hope you will try the EFT. It can completely change your life and you will be able to feel like a female again--after all that's what you are!

Well you asked for horror stories, ordinarily i wouldn't hit you with something this heavy but since you asked -
A friend of mine got implants years ago and got a blood infection from bacteria that gathered behind the implant. The infection spread throughout her body and she ended up having to having both legs amputated above the knees, and all of her fingers amputated. Unbelievable. She just wanted bigger breasts and ended up losing so much. Can you imagine losing her legs and the use of her hands for surgery she didn't need to begin with? Cosmetic surgery is unnecessary and dangerous. I say skip it! Small breasts are beautiful.

I just want you to know that my breast that I loved shunk a cup size after I had my daughter and it was really hard to take at first.
I was going in your direction at first as well.
But I started exercising and weight training and it took a while, but I am happy with my breast now.

Also, I realize all the negative energy I was sending to my breast that helped breast feed my child. I also had to think about how I was socialized to see breast as sexual objects just for men. I also thought of all of the racists National Geographic shows when I was little on channel thirteen that showed naked African women breast feed many babies and thier breast being long to their stomach.

Then I watch Dr. 90210 and saw all of these women with these cortoonish type breast and I felt like they were a reaction to something instead of free will choice. Most were young 18 trying to gain something or old 50 not wanting to loose something.

No judgement either way just something to think about.

You go girl! I have small, saggy breasts and HATE THEM. I admire that you want to spiff yours up! :) Good luck!

I do understand how you feel. I grew up flat and shapeless and was the butt of many jokes...."oh my, you are so skinny and flat, you must need to run around in a shower inorder to get wet"...etc. I went to therapy and once I learned to like myself, it stopped bothering me.

However at age 35 I finally developed hips. At age 40 I went into early menopause, lost my period, my body got wider..but still very flat. At age 60 I suddenly notice I didn't look right in my clothes anymore. The reason,I finally developed breasts. I knew nothing at all about buying bras as I never owned one and became overwhelemed in the stores...finally with the help of a friend I managed to find a size and brand that fit properly...so I brought several. Turns out I'm a 36-B. At age 62 I'm still struggling with getting used to wearing a bra. One can see it's the correct size yet it feels so annoying, so closed in. I do look better in my clothes when I'm dressed to go out...but I just can't wait to get home to take it off. Sometimes I don't even wait, I take it off in the car on the way home.

I know nothing about inplants. But you might consider calling N.Y.U. in Manhattan in terms of finding a surgeon and surgery as they have the best doctors... and people go there from all over the world for medical care and second opinions ....For a fee, they also make arrangements for long term parking and housing for those who travel in for medical care which makes life easier.

My experience with Albany doctors and the hospital there have been awful....I'll never drive in that direction again unless it's to the airport. Infact I've been doctor hopping for the last 21 years in Ulster County as these country doctors are a bunch of morons. I now have 2 doctors I hardly trust as yet but they at least seem to listen to my concerns, and seem to understand and except my sensitivity to medications. My sister who lives in Florida has the same problem there with doctors...so she flies up for the summer and while she visits with your grandchilden, She deals with all her medical needs in Manhattan and has had several surgeries at the "Hospital for Special surgery" and I have a friend who gets great care at N.Y.U....

I lost a lot of weight and basically lost my breasts. I was down to a size A. So I had a lift (because they sagged after breastfeeding two children) and implants, and went to a size C on the advice of the surgeon. He did an amazing job, no complications and I had it done 7 years ago! His name is Alan Kisner and I think his website is http://www.kisnerplasticsurgery.com but I'm not sure.
