Seeking Child Psychologist in Bellaire Area

My daughter has a very serious mental illness and her psychiatrist has highly recommended Dr. Andrew Brams who is located near you at 4615 Post Oak Place Drive, Suite 201, Houston 77027. If you don't mind the drive I can also personally recommend Dr. Khasho with Family Psychiatry of the Woodlands ###-###-####. If you're ever in need of a psychiatrist, his associate, Dr. Marshall Lucas is THE BEST (with our daughter's illness we've seen several).

My daughter is seeing one right now and she IS in Bellaire.

Her name is Edna Kwan, MA, LPC, RPT. She is a licensed professional counselor and a Resgisted Play Therapist (I believe there are only 2 in the state).

She has her Masters Degree from Columbia (smart cookie).

Now, my daughter wasn't seeing her for ADHD but for some personal hardships she experienced. We only needed about 8 visits so this wasn't a long term experience. My daughter initially did not want to go but really ended up liked Edna, felt comfortable and enjoyed going so I believed she worked well with my daughter.

I tried to "screen" the therapists to find a good match. I asked them what they specialize in FIRST instead of telling them what I was looking for. This way, they weren't just telling me what I wanted to hear just to get my business.

Call your pediatrician. My son went to counseling and our pedi gave me a list of local counselors/psychologists that he recommended.

David B Dent, LCSW worked at Menninger for many years in the Adolescent group and is now in private practice. He's not in Bellaire but close at 59 and Kirby. His phone number is ###-###-####.

My son is ADD and his Doctor is wonderful. Her name is Dr. Debra Stoken she works with Lifetrek. I absolutly love her. SHe is the one who diagnosed my son who will be 13 this month.
