Seeking Accountant to Help Set Me up Business in Huntington Beach

Anybody know a good and reliable CPA/accountant that can help me set up a company as well as do our taxes? We've been using our accountant in NJ (where we moved from almost a year ago) and we'd like to have a local accountant. We need some local to Huntington Beach -- Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley or Newport Beach is ok too.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

First of all, thank you for all the responses. I decided to go with Audra Purdy in HB, since she was also highly recommended by somebody else. Mamasource rocks!

I can recommend my tax accounting teacher, Ramon Raugust. He teaches at Cypress College and has his own agency. He is very knowledgeable about accounting and taxes and is very honest. You should take his class. I have a home business and was able not only to do my own taxes but my small business as well.

Here's mine. She's great and reasonable. Handles our business and personal taxes. Also great at finding things that I miss. She also does bookkeeping and her rates are reasonable because she knows her stuff so is quick and efficient.

Hi M.,
I know you've had a few responses with recommendations close to you, but if you are going to "interview" CPA's to find the best fit, you might want to speak to John Martin. He is located in
Los Alamitos and I would recommend him to anyone. His phone number is ###-###-####. My husband and I have 3 businesses between us. He helped us set up our corporation several years ago and he truly takes a personal interest in his clients' wellbeing. Good luck and best wishes. R.

I know a good tax guy in Huntington Beach. He does our taxes for our S-Corp. E-mail me if you want his info. (I'm not sure if he does day to day accounting as I do that myself on Quickbooks, but if he doesn't I'm sure he can recommend one.)

Hi M.,
It's not so local to you (Manhattan Beach) but I would highly recommend Dana Lawrence at Money Matters Tax Service. He could definately help you with setting up your business license.

M., we don't have a business of our own (yet-maybe soon!!); however, we have an accountant that was recommened to us by my boss (who obviously does have his own business). The name is Alan Shubert his number is ###-###-####. His office is near the airport; however, we have done everything through mail/email. He has done our taxes for years and I trust him completely. My husband was in the military and now is an airline pilot so we had houses in a couple states and all sorts of different tax laws and he handled all our returns for different states. I think he would be great to help you out, or if he can't help at least refer you to someone who would be perfect in your situation! Good luck on the new business!!
