Seeking a Store with a Good Selection of Children's Beds

My 2 1/2 year old is outgrowing his toddler bed. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good place in the N.W. Houston area to buy him a big boy bed? We are probably going to look for a twin bed since his room is not very large. We would like to get one with storage drawers beneath the mattresses and a bookcase in the headboard.

What can I do next?

Try Bubba's Beds in Tomball. We got my daughters bunk beds there a couple of years ago. Very helpful and friendly service and reasonable prices!! Good Luck! =)

I personally prefer Gallery furniture. We bought a bunk bed for our middle child there, and it is high quality, but was not expensive. My husband's grandfather used to make furniture for a living, so my husband knows quality when he sees it. He has yet to find furniture at the Gallery that includes particle board anywhere in its making. It's a great place to buy affordable furniture that is not in any way a piece of junk. The owner is a great local guy. His warehouse at his main location burned down, but I believe he is back in business again. He is local, and he also gives a lot back to the community both here and abroad. You can't go wrong with "Mattress Mack" LOL!

My daughter and I did all the shopping around a year ago when my grandson turned 5 and was ready for a really grown-up bed. By far the Kids Store at Rooms-to-Go was the best place to look. They had a good selection, and the prices were reasonable. (They even bought their daughter's bedding there when she turned 4.)

Other places with a good selection included the Dump (although their delivery rate was really high--I've heard them advertising lately about free delivery, so perhaps that issue has been resolved) and the Room Store.

One thing to be careful about--a lot of children's furniture is laminate over particle board. Be sure to insist that you get "all wood". It will last longer and be worth your investment.

Hope this helps!

I was just out shopping for furniture the other day and happened to pass by the kids section at the roomstore. They had beds with storage drawers underneath and one bed that looked like a boat with a storage trunk at the front. I also went to gallery furniture and they had a small section of kids furniture at the back. Normally the section is bigger but i guess that since they haven't finished building the rest out, they have it open in smaller sections. I bought all of my daughters furniture there and we love it. I didn't get all of her furniture there at once but I kept going back to add on and now her room is complete. I tried shopping around at other stores, but ultimately we always ended up getting the better deal there at Gallery Furniture. I personally thought rooms to go was a bit pricey for kids furniture. I went in there to look for a kids vanity table and stool and found a really nice one at rooms to go, but i was not about to pay the 650.00 they wanted for it. I've also seen that the dump has children's furniture and this weekend only they have free delivery, so we will be going there to check it out for dining room and living room furniture. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Costco has the cutest kid furniture, but you have to be a member. It may be worth it to join, I think it is $50.

Have you tried the roomstore or Gallery furniture? Both places have good beds.

We've recently shopped for beds for our daughter and found lots of selections with the drawers underneath at both Rooms To Go and The Roomstore (both in the Willowbrook area). We found their prices to be comperable to each other and both had a good selection.
